Question, what are the gun platform thingies next to the stormhammers? I can't place the models, they dont look like either version of rapier.....

Haha I was waiting for someone to ask me that...well spotted!.....They are a rapier conversion I made using this light tank model from Dystopian wars (be aware: cutting them off their cast on resin bases was a bitch)....

Gorgeous work on the Iron Hands, and I'm looking forward to seeing the Blood Drinkers. Could I ask for some details on the bases of the Iron Hands? You've got a great cohesive look there, and I'd love to know what the bases are exactly. Am I right in thinking they're from Flames of War? I'm aware of, but not familiar with, the game, so have no idea what size/name the bases you've used have.

they're almost certainly FoW small bases for the infantry and small vehicles

Thanks mate, I was definitely aiming for cohesion and contrast in the basing in order to enhance the pretty simple black paintjob...I did indeed use FOW small bases for the infantry and most of the vehicles. The rapiers, land speeders, land raiders and tech marines were based on steel washers. The Thunderhawk's were based on Renedra 60mm round bases.

I have actually magnetised this army for ease of storage and transport ......

The container is lined with magnetic adhesive paper, I have stuck 20x30mm steel bases under the FOW bases (which are plastic), the steel washers look after themselves ;D

Very neat; perfectly suits the disciplined background of the Iron Hands! :)
Thanks for answering my question about the basing; the Flames of War bases really work well to add some interest and natural differences between squads without crowding or taking away from the minis.
