Throw some traks underneath and maybe some kind of superstructure and you have a weird warmachine unlike anything else out there. The interesting thing about Chaos Squats is that there's so little info about them, so this would be a good opportunity to go nuts with weid conversions - it is Chaos after all!

Darn! Didn’t expect there to be so much interest on the subject. Soon I’ll have to take my own advise and really make that army. Something that I first thought of more as a joke starts to look like better and better idea. Didn’t remember that the Daemon Engines were made by Chaos Squats, but looking at the Cannon of Khorne it is so obvious, it’s the only Daemon Engine that doesn’t fit my Iron Warriors army, but it would be right at home with the Chaos Squats and so would Doom Blaster, maybe Cauldron of Blood also. The whole Ziggurat thing got me curious, there is definitely potential there, just haven’t found a good picture for inspiration. Another matter to ponder; should the Chaos Squat army be Chaos undivided, Khorne or Nurgle as in the picture (well wicked!), I really don’t see them being Slaanesh or Tzeenth worshippers.
I really liked the old Fantasy Battle and Bloodboll Babylonian top hat and curly beard  theme, true it would be quite a work to ad beards and hats to all, but something along those lines would be nice like the Man-O-War Flying Bull, some of those ships have nice guns too that could be used. Too bad most of that stuff is hard to come by… let the eBay bidding wars commence!

Some interesting stuff could also be converted from the Uncharted Seas ships.

I just thought to pop in for a moment to share my thoughts about this subject. Use 'em or lose 'em as you see fit.

IMO the Chaos Squats, like all chaos, should be the antithesis of the original race that comes when one's character flaws are pushed to the extreme while the values are warped around to serve those.

So Chaos Squats would be greedy to the extreme, vain (lots of wealth show-offs), dishonorable (gain by any means; honor perverted by greed). Unlike the Squat (Dwarf) mentality of using tried and tested designs Chaos Squats would have lots of (potentially self-) destructive experimental weapons, use of slaves would be widespread and in this they'd actually resemble Orks which only adds to the loathing regular Squats feel about their dark cousins.

The WHFB idea of sorcerers is also well worth considering and fits in with the daemon engine theme. And don't forget Boar Centaurs!

I wrote the Chaos Squat list for NetEpic.  I'm maybe half way through making an army for them, but it's been sitting on the back burner for ages now.  Here's the start of the Ziggurat chassis.

Your ideas in the netEpic thread had some solid fantasy Chaos Dwarf inspiration.  I'm not sure about Hobgobs in 40K, but you could easily sell me on grot slaves & I dig the ziggurat.

Juggers seem like a good fit for CD.  Not as regular Daemon Juggers, but as something stompy and bullish.
