cool pics but take it from a old adobe geser like me when manupulating planes u must blur the plain a little and the background a lot (u only blur background) it look more realistic that way (its a wing man taking the picture and is is not stationery relativ to the lead plane)

I suspect that if the effect is to have the photo taken by a wingman then the plane would not have any motion effects.

The background would get blurred.

Another thing to remember is that items in the background will have their colours less saturated.

All these are very minor comments. Excellent work though and I look forward to seeing what you come up with next.

Wow, cool army and cool photoshopping.

It seems that Epic Tau seems to attract some really good painters!

seen a lot of old WWII fotos taken by wing men and the lead plane is also a little blurred even to day wing man fotos is (it is impossible to mirror led plane exactly (if you dont hav laser slave installed (and you don't)

but the rest is true

Very nice work, both the painting and the photos.  Look forward to seeing more.

Wow, so many replies! Thanks for all the kind comments!

Chris and Tiny Tim: I'd love to help but I'll be doing MSc next year so can only do the job slowly if you guys don't mind

Justinel: Thanks for the kind words. I learnt most of the photoshopping skills from The Epic Lounge. The photos are very inspiring and the articles very informative.

Evil & Chaos: Thanks for your advice. The backgrounds of some photos were deliberately blurred because I wanted to mimic snap shot of actions. Though you might have noticed that some photos have inconsistently blurred backgrounds because I'm not too sure how real action photos look like.

Onyx, Hena, Mark_Logue & Otterman: I took a lot of inspiration from you and Dobbsy's work. So thank you very much for your comments and inspiring models!

duz.holger & Pixelgeek: I was using the Forgeworld books as my photo guide and most of their planes looked sharp and clear. I'll remember your words and try to incorporate them into my next photos, thanks~

M4jumbo: I've got 40K photos photoshopped in the past, you can see them in my album here:

I've still got loads waiting in a queue so there'll be more eventually  :;):

Really great photos.  Looking at your backdrops- are they from scotland?  One of them looks just like the view down applecross pass and the other looks like suiliven?

Thanks for the comments~

J0K3r: Yes, most of the backgrounds are photos I took from Scotland, including Applecross, Orkney and Eilean Donan Castle. A few were from Scarborough, and the Hammerhead one was taken from South Africa.

When making "natural" backgrounds I normally use my own photos because they are more readily accessible. Cityscapes are a lot harder so I often take multiple photos of my Epic structures to create a fake city, such as this one:

If I'm feeling lazy I just use photos from Star Wars. Coruscant, Bespin and Tatooin are my common sources.  :p

Beautiful work.  There is some talk going around of building a new supplement with the Tau... Would you be willing to allow your pictures to be used in a publication like that?

Moscovian, yes I'll be really happy if my photos can help you in making the supplements! Please feel free to use any of them!

If you need more I've got a few Tau photos in the making as well.
