Nice... the FW one makes the metals look rather feeble.. ?:;):

-btw- Is it just the angle of the photo or is the tail of the FW model slightly bent to one side? ????

They're both slightly lopsided. The photo does make it look pretty bad. They're a lot better than they were originally, and I had straighened them out when I washed them, but they're obviously more eleastic than I though since they've clearly got mishapen again....

Day 32, Friday 21st November - Evening of the flying brushes

Well, its Friday night and I havent been anywhere, not a grand thing to boast, yet I'm still feeling good about tonight.

I've watched the first chunk of my new Collectors editon LoTR:TT DVD, I've played a little Battlefield:1942 online, and I've done a little bit of painting.

Oh OK, I've done a HEAP of painting ?

The second Infantry company is now completed.
The two command stands have had some details added. Not up to the standard of my Cityguard units, but they're not too shabby.
I've completed the Chimeras for the Company so it can be mechanised when required. They are still in need of highlights on the company markings though.
I've cleaned, glued, undercoated & sanded 6 stands of Commissars. I was going to do the maximum 12, but since I wouldnt want more than 6 or 7 of my current formations to have a commissar, I figured I'd save the time at this point and do more if & when they're needed for larger games.

Finally, I managed to get rid of most of the gaps on the Marauders with some careful whittling with my knife rather than GS, so they didnt need as long to dry & I made a start on painting them tonight which was a complete bonus. Oh, and I've undercoated, painted & sanded the Marauder's bases too ! :D

Overall, the stockpile requiring paint has taken a good bashing & I'm well on target to get it all done by the 01/12/03, if not before. I've got a day comprising of Rugby & painting planned again tomorrow, so depending on how much celebration is required after the match, this weekend should see the bulk of the force completed to a gaming standard, with only a few markings here and there to polish off in the coming week!

*fingers crossed*

So, the only bit you're really interested in.....
Pretty (?) pictures....

And some close ups on the 2nd mechanised /regimental HQ company. Note the markings on the Chimeras still need highlights.

L-4,

The new Krieg Siege Tractor look likes a great updated version of the Gorgon 2 & 3!

Where did you see this photo?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Jimbo,

That FW model is nice (and a decent size) I wish I had got some now at GamesDay to make those Ork Heavy Bommers I have been talking about for ages... - Jimbo.

That's OK.

I made my Ork Bommas ages ago and they still need paint.

Of course, Ork Bommas still don't exist in E-A, do they?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Reguarding Marauder Bombers:

SM2/TL:
- I always thought that the original looked very W.W.II medium / heavy bombers like a U.S. bomber with a 75mm cannon in the nose. There were two editions of these bombers by the way. Their defence turrets distinguish them.

E-40k:
- The E-40k Marauder looked like Soviet W.W.II "Sturmovik" and much more of a light to medium bomber than what the text describes as a heavier attack aircraft. I think the E-40k edition Marauder calls out for Soviet Red Stars and fancy slogans!

FW:
- I have one each of the FW editions and they look like "HEAVY" bombers. I still haven't built mine and am thinking of alternate ordinance for the wings (I want BOMBs on my BOMBERs!). I like them and am using rare earth magnets to make mine removable from their stands.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I have all of them, G/W and F/W...

Do you have both versions of the original SM-2/TL Marauder?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

There was one with a little round turret on top and another that was different.

Of course, now I can't remember what the diference was!

I have both of them and will have to fish them out of storage. I remember finding the difference some years ago.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
