That's the difference between 7+8.
I cant see the difference between 6+7 either, though 7 looks like its had another wash.

A full article has been written, I just posted the image for some proof of what I've been doing.
I dont know whether the article will end up with Fanatic or Incoming, but it will be up somewhere soon enough

When can we look forward to an update with freshly painted models then Tuff? I just love to see your work, and can't wait to see some big ass Marauders!
Cheers

Unlikely seeing as one of the submission guidelines for Fanatic is that the work cant have been published anywhere else. It was instated after a number of articles went forward to epic mag before they realised we already had them on Epic40k.com (in fact, I think one or two about artillery did end up in the mag anyway after they'd been on the old site for ages!)

| Well, I got in from work at 4:45 & am off out later so not much happening tonight (only got on these boards for the previous post earlier by accident since I clicked here rather than for emails by mistake ? ).
I've just recieved a batch of eldar for Fanatic. Nothing interesting before anyone asks - its just a heap of E40K edition sprues to bulk out their playtest armies & for "full force photos". They're also going to eat into my epic scale painting.
BUT, as I've said many times, this army WILL be finished by December 1st, so the final infantry company, 2 fire support plattons, 10/12 stands of commissars, the Marauders & various other missing details will all be done by then & of course there'll be pictures of all of it.
Then I start the Marines for a month..... ?No rest for the wicked ?

As listed above in my last post; Infantry for 2nd Mechanised company 2 fire support platoons 10/12 stands of commissars 2 FW Marauder bombers & various other missing details (highlights on Manticore rockets, underside of lightning 2 & various company markings)
I missed out of that the FW Stormblades since I'm not sure what's happening with them so they may be delayed. (when they arrived 1 was missing a turret & dont know if I'm getting a replacement or making a conversion).
I also forgot to mention that I obviously need to paint the other half of the chimeras for the Mechanised company.
Not too bad - I've got 10 days..... *gulp* ?

I can't wait to see those Marauders. BTW, you actually have made me to consider an insane Epic conversion project. I won't tell what it is since most likely it will never be done, but if I get to it I'll be sure to post pics.

I've been reading this with a great deal of interest, particularly with regards to some of the Forgeworld models - they're high on my shopping list. However, I totally missed E40k while I was at uni, so I'm stuck with hordes of the old IG infantry, unpainted. Is it still possible to get some of the newer IG infantry models? They look loads better...

I would love to swap those original Guardsmen for the newer ones! I am sure that others would do it as well. However, the old minis work just as well as the new ones, and there are no differences in terms of the game.

They make a great combined force - at the moment I am just finishing off my Cadian Mechanised company in desert camo, next is Steel Legion (Valhallan models) and then Catachan in desert colours. Should have enough for 2 Steel Legion companies if I am careful or if I can can get an extra sprue off eBay.

As Netepic said, I too have combined IG Forces of the original IG from SM1 & SM2, and Cats & Vals from E40K. So IMO, Coalition Forces is the Way to Go, like NATO, etc. ! I wonder if the Death Korps of Krieg for E:A will be new figures as the Stormtroopers will be ?!

Day 32, Friday 21st November - Day of Big Bomber Brother
Well, there's been so much interest in the FW Marauders that I thought I'd do a quick post prior to a main update a little later.
I finished my commission work for the day in record time (Helped by not sleeping well for some reason, getting up at 5am and thinking "sod it, may as well start...." ) & so I've set about working on my IG.
Cleanin up & putting together these beasts was a bit of a pain, but they do look like they're going to be good!
A Quick pick for size comparrisons: On the rigth is the SMII Marauder, Middle is the E40K version, and left is obviously the FW monster!

I'm now going to fill the gaps between the nose & fuselage with GS. Thet'll have to be left to dry (probably overnight) before I can start painting, but I've got a quiet night in tonight so the Mechanised company will be recieving some more attention at least!

that FW model is nice (and a decent size) I wish I had got some now at GamesDay to make those Ork Heavy Bommers I have been talking about for ages...

Nice... the FW one makes the metals look rather feeble..
-btw- Is it just the angle of the photo or is the tail of the FW model slightly bent to one side?
