Finished some Emperor's Children stuff. Just standard single pose marines, but for the Emperor's Children I find the uniformity appropriate. (As you can see I am a single Chaos Space Marine short - Eaten by the Carpet Monster I suppose. If anyone have a spare they'd be willing to part with I'd be extremely grateful)

Not really Epic, but I suppose one could argue that at 1/350 we're still kin 6mm territory. And I figured that there must be a few navy buffs out there who might enjoy this Anyway: here's a little side project I've been working on. I picked up the Tamiya 1/350 USS Missouri at a second hand store for $5. The previous owner had splashed some enamel paint on a few parts and messed up a few things with coarse sand paper, but otherwise it was complete and unbuilt. Model ships always were a first love of mine - I think I built my first airfix model of HMS Belfast when I was 8 - but I never owned one of those impressive large scale kits. This is my first ship model in more than 20 years but I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to experiment with painting and modelling techniques I rarely get to use when painting Epic stuff. I also picked up a set of Photo etch details, and a wooden deck to make things really interesting. It was a really great opportunity to improve my airbrushing technique, work with oil and enamel paint and washes, photo etch (some interesting possibilities here, that could applied to Epic miniatures as well), pastels, and various weathering techniques. I wouldn't say that the result is a perfect masterpiece compared to some the real model ship gurus out there. I definitely also made some rookie mistakes, but it was a fun build, and I'm prettty happy with the final result, considering that it is a first try. I think I might pick up a set of 1/350 crew models and man the ship as a final tough and give a better sense of scale.
