Beautiful work as usual. I could use some speed painting techniques. I hate painting infantry.

painting guides in the old rulebooks are nice, but not really that speedy. Perhaps we should do some sort of pinned thread of "ultra fast painting tips, for players in a hurry"? There's plenty of guides for advanced painting techniques, but it might be fun to see what tricks people got up their sleeves when things have to be done quickly.

This is something I would be interested in too. I hate painting infantry, and it takes me ages to do even a small number of stands. Don't get me wrong, I like the result when it's complete and on the table, but I'd be happier if I could crack a faster approach...

It would be nice with a guide for speed painting each major race. Obviously some schemes are impossible to speed paint, but it would give players the option of at least one quick scheme for their chosen race, if they just want some miniatures on the table in a hurry.

Brainstorming easy schemes:

Nurgle Death Guard

Imperial Guard green or sand monochrone/two color camo

Most Space Marines that aren't black or white. (ie. classics like Dark Angels, Ultramarines, Blood Angels, IMperial Fists)

Evil Sunz

I am a bit unsure when it comes to Eldar, as I generally find them rather time consuming to paint.

hm, why not black marine chapters?
fair enough on white. I'm looking to paint some BTs speedily in the future and was thinking they'd be pretty fast.

A speed painting guide would be a great idea. A new thread could be sticky'd in the 6mm section and members could post methods and even video, sounds like a plan.

Especially useful for new collectors who want a viable painted army on the table fast.

Awesome work on those IG, they look really really nice. Really like the camo.

I have mentioned before that I would like to one day see a 6mm painting and terrain guide (Pdf or such) , in the same vein as the Epic fan expansions, that would cover ever thing from basics to more advanced guides. But I sadly wouldn't know where to start on such a thing, but I think it would be very good idea, especially for newer players, or for those of us that were not gifted with painting talent. I could contribute, but it would be limited to basic nurgle or rat schemes, and even then I'm no master painter.

I struggle to advance my painting any further, I can just go slower! But with things like 40k there is loads of youtube videos, books, and you can walk in to any store and be taught. Encouraging people to paint 6mm isnt as easy as there is always the road block of not being able to be shown how to improve, unless you are lucky enough to be around talent! :)

I definitely would be interested in seeing a speed guide to painting tanks, especial camo, and even more so if with out an air brush! I have tried several times, and I can never make it look good, one of the main reasons I have only painted orks, space skaven and nurgle! ;)

I was looking through my old stuff when I came across this old project I'd completely forgotten about. I think I only ever posted a few teasers, so here's what's painted so far.
I think this was started back in '05 or something like that. Way before 3D-printed miniatures anyway. The idea was that every unit in the army should be ocnverted in some way. The infantry in particular would be upgraded so that every Marine would be unique. I can't really remember why I never finnished this. I still got Land Raiders, T-hawk, Speeders and Bikes - not to mention the Supreme Commander and remaining Scouts to paint up. I guess that'll be a project for a rainy day.

Here's a few examples. The remaining photos are on my page here:

Great work, nice to see the group shot.

Holy cr@p. They look absolutely stunning!

The converting (at that scale) is insanely good. And the painting is awesome. Love how you've done the green power armour mate.
