The Deployment
Like a bolt out of the blue, the Space Marine assault begins. Terminators teleport, Drop Pods rain down, and the Thunderhawk delivers a deadly cargo. The Blood Angels WILL have the blitz.
The Space Marines Smash the Warband hiding in the rocks. One tactical squad gets caught in a crossfire and destroyed.
The Marines press the assault, engaging and destroying a stompa mob. They attract the attention of the gargants, who unleash hell on them.
The Warlord lets loose on the Great Gargant with everything, stripping it of all but one void shield
A huge squadron of Ork Fighta Bommaz breaks a Landspeeder formation...
Thunderbolts come on in hot pursuit and put down three down in a flaming wreck
An Ork Blitz Brigade doubles over to the Space Marine deployment line and lays down some hurt on a tac squad
The Blood Angels don't take kindly and respond with a supported assault
The Blitz Brigade is completely destroyed
Another Blitz Brigade and a Boyz Mob takes their place. Fighting is fierce!
A Devastator detachment with Razorback support closes to engage and routs the Boyz
The Gargant charges in and destroys the remnants of the Space Marine Blitz assault...
Space Marine Tacticals and the Warlord finally violate the Great Gargant's void shields
Space Marine bikers assault the broken Boyz mob and utterly destroy them
Ork Fighta Bommaz strafe the Devestator formation but fail to do much damage. The Emperor protects
The Thunderbolts fly in and put more hurt on the Great Gargant...
And that was that... battle called due to time. This is what the field looked like at end of 2
So, we didn't finish, but it was a ton of fun!!! Game really could have gone either way. Objective score was 0 - 0 and neither of us had a dominant position. Both of our forces were very beat up.
