A Man and His War Engine of Antiquity

Post subject: A Man and His War Engine of Antiquity

Once upon a time there was a man. He had a file that described not in one, or even two, but three dimensions a war engine of extraordinary power and size.

So, he gave the file to a laser-armed robot, and it made something that looked like a Euro symbol. The man sold it, but was then overcome with guilt, because the Euro symbol was not as ancient, robotic, or horrible as he wanted.

Then he bought a much larger ancient war engine, and studied it. The fruit of his attention was a file that described the machine in not one, nor two, but three dimensions. This file went to a different robot that had even smaller lasers, but to compensate, a vat of molten metal.

This is the story of that man and his little toy.

Behold:

The pieces looked promising. Some tinkering with the keyboard yielded this:

Then the robot replied:

And so forth, until all of the pieces were done. And the vat of bronze said:

And the man replied:

"I am very proud of you. I should set you free and see if the World of Forges would have interest in you."

But they didn't. The World of Forges across the sea was uncaring and aloof, and the little pieces of metal were sad.

So now the pieces of metal sit with their caretaker in the land of the Angles, awaiting a flying metal bird to take them back to the man.

When he finally sees them again, he will confine them to a little box full of bendy silicon.

So concludes the secret project of the Otterman. The caretaker may be by eventually to tell his story, but for now, I have no more secrets.

But lo the faithful did flock in abundance and did cry out their praise with promises of sacrificed tokens of wealth at the alter of commerce in honour of the machine and in hopes that they the chosen would be rewarded with really nice effigies of the construct in resin cast at very reasonable rates.

Yes, my friend, it is. That is the Euro symbol that started me down the bronze tasting path.

Mmm, bronzey.

For real? It is much inferior to the new type.

This is normally the case... with the exception of Star Trek movies.

Besides this older version would still beat my own sad knock off attempt any day of the week.

See! NECRON FAIL
