that excellent, that's the dream for SM2 guard.

Think I might have asked this before (apologies), but seemingly not in this thread, what's the creamy-khaki colour you're using on the tanks?

Thanks guys.

@Apoc - The tan was a Krylon spray (honey harvest something another), Agrax wash, CdA Festering Brown layer, CdA Dessert Yellow edge and Ushabti finer edge.

The spray was mostly covered up, so any cream base ought to work.

Arguably drifting off-topic here, but seeing as you also use Coat d'Arms paints: does it seem to you that they've declined in quality a bit over the last few years? I've found a few of their paints (most significantly Wizard Blue, Goblin Green and Hairy Brown) don't seem to cover as well as they used to, like they don't have quite as much pigment in them.

99% of my CdA are from 2000, so I couldn't comment on the newer stuff.

I read once that they're mixed by eye, if that's the case there would be differences from batch to batch in consistency and color. Who owns them now? Black Hat still? Might be worth shooting them an e-mail and seeing what they say if you're not happy.

Yes – i used to use them quite a bit have now stopped buying them. Coverage doesn't seem good and still go glossy at times.

Had heard similar to Dave re the mixing, so there can be shade variation.

Cheers for specifying the colours Dave Festering Brown would be the colour im after!

Thanks Nitpick.

I haven't gotten around to converting up some actual objectives for my Armored Company, likely because I've just been using these black primed ones from Epic 40k. Given that I've been using like this for two years I figured it was about time I painted them, so I took a few hours last night and painted them up.

I had a giftcard from a rebate for a tire purchase and was looking for something new to try out. I remembered playing Triumph a few years back at a Fall In! so decided to give it a shot. These are 15mm Polybian Romans. The casting on the pilum left a lot to be desired so I decided to give them my "Warmaster High Elf" treatment and convert them up. The hafts are brass tube with a small pin tip glued into them. I them added a block of plasticard as the weight and shaped it with a knife.

The rest were pretty much stock, except for some spear and javelin swaps on the Triarii and Velites. I just need to finish building the cavalry then it's on to painting.

I started off my Polybian Romans with not painting any Romans at all, but Cretan Archers. I'll be using these as skirmishers. These are closer to true 15mm than the Romans (more 18mm). I'm telling myself that the Romans were just better fed.

I've been working on the Velites these past few weeks. Most of the colors have their basecoat down and I'm halfway through painting the red.

I also finished up some more Epic armor conversions recently, notably Thunderers which have 18 pieces of plasticard on them.

I finished up the Velites tonight, the line infantry also has their basecoat of red down as well. I have a small local con coming up where I volunteered to run some Warmaster games so I'm going to take a break from these for a bit to finish up some 10mm terrain. Hopefully I'll be back to painting them in September.

Thanks Apoc.

I've been working on terrain this past month but needed to finish up my trophy miniature for the upcoming Shieldbash Invitation Tournament III. Here he is, in all his glory.

There wasn't much room on the trophy itself so I had to get creative. I was hoping to do a giraffe head on the innertube but ran out of time. I also finished up four Fyrdee for my Vidaar warband. Now back to terrain.
