Good job! That sounds like a tough force!

beautiful army!

I don't know... the filters could use some lasers and maybe a disco ball or two. To be REALLY cool.

Wow those are impressive. Also where did you get the backdrop?

Hey sorry, meant to respond sooner. The backdrop is the inside cover of the Forgeworld Red Books for the Horus Heresy (rulebook, core Astartes army list, Legions army list). Great ruined city backdrop :)

Does it count as thread necro when it's your own painting log?

So yeah, somewhere last Spring I lost access to my old Flickr account, right around the time they separated from Yahoo, COVID hit, my dog had chronic stomach trouble, my wife changed jobs and we moved...

So yeah, suffice it to say, recovering the Flickr account wasn't high on the priority list at the time, and the second half of 2020 honestly sucked for painting & hobby time. I got a lot of stuff assembled, some of it even primed (mostly Necromunda, there), but just couldn't find the mojo to pick up a paint brush again.

So there's some eye candy, at least, here's where my Legio Tempestus battleforce stood around September of last year:

Image

Well, 2021's been a better year, so far. I got fed up with trying to recover the old album, and well, set up a new one. I painted half a warband for Shieldbash (20mm fantasy), worked on a bunch of weapons that had been kicking around for Tempestus, and I'm chugging through a pair of titans for AT18.

Current workbench looks like this:

Image

The next big army I want to work on is Guard, and most of the armor, anyway, is ready to go. Everything in this tray is magnetized. Everything. If it's a turret, it can rotate. That was a fun project, and there's a few more to come (haven't even touched the basic Leman Russ company yet...).

Image

Also, the lag on my 6mm titan build wasn't such a bad thing, because 3D printing's caught up with a lot of what I wanted to do. Suturvora / my Iron Warriors are due for some reinforcement in the coming months too...

Edit: Dog's ok. Turns out not all dogs handle heartworm meds very well. So we stopped trying to poison her last August, and her quality of life's improved significantly :)

Both, actually. Picked up the .stls because I have no problems incentivizing Artisan of Vaul to keep going, but I asked BattleBling to downsize that batch of weapons to 75% so I could run triple missile pod Reavers (if I feel so inclined), and the Spitfire head & Mammoth pod are going into turning a forumware Warlord into a Siegelord :)

Yeah I did something similar myself on a few of his STLs even if I didn't need them immediately. Best to support folk (but I'm also that weirdo that drops tips to people I use stuff from thingi)

The next time we play I'm going to bring one of those magnetic building toys and toss it at your guard. Watch the chaos ensue!

They look good Brad.
