Thanks.
No problem. The first step is a coat of shadow grey. Then, I do a heavy drybrush of codex grey. The spots are Iyandon darkson foundation, applied with a really old/messed up brush. Those I dry brush with green ochre (vallejo). The tracks are dark flesh, with a dry brush of vallejo gunmetal grey. The baggage is vallejo german camo beige with scorched brown straps. Then, I put a wash of badab black over everything. Once that's dry, I follow up with another dry brush of ochre and codex on the hull. The last dry brushing is pretty inexact, which gives the splotches a "sprayed on" look.

Tanks for that
So you highlight the 2 main colors seperate right?
I am asking for that cause it makes me some problems with my camo colorshem on Ig super heavy tanks.

Ya, separate. However, I don't work too hard at keeping within the lines so-to-speak - a little bit of green ochre highlight that gets brushed onto the grey just serves to soften the edges of the blotches.

They look great!

What bases do you use on the IG vehicles?

The minervans march on...

Here's the latest installment, a platoon's (well, according to the list anyway) worth of exterminators. The scheme should look familiar. I used ork big shoota barrels on demolisher turrets for 5 of them. The commissar/leader tank is a FW russ turret with a manchurian macaroni twin heavy stubber.

Wow, it's been over a month since an update. I am shame. Then again, there hasn't been much to report.

A bit of progress to report now, however. I'm breaking my policy on this thread of not doing WIP updates, just this once.

Work at the "Slovak tank factory" continues... A couple of spare-part heavy chimeras were completed a while ago. Here's an example:

The remainder will be more "procreate-ive" in their building materials. On a completely unrelated note, I heartily endorse the mold that is insta. Great stuff.

Also, I have a dozen ragnorusses in the making. The turret I really like is the E40K one with the extra amor and camo netting. Dave found 6 of those for the ones he built and painted for me. Since these are a bit hard to find, I've decided to build an example without the camo netting and then replicate it. Here is the master, with barrel attached so I could see what it'd look like, next to one of the completed tanks for comparison:

...and next to the battle cannon barrels I acquired from uberChris:

Isn't Markava the name on an Israeli tank?

You have exposed my cleverness to the world...
It is indeed. I was writing in my 40k fluff voice. If you must know how that sounds, recall how we all say "sorcerer lord" - the rest of you poor deprived souls will have to imagine listening to a game dungeons and dragons spoken through a severe and annoying lisp.

Just caught this thread and Frikin awesome I must say! And yes it is the IDF MBT. Merkava literally means "chariot" in hebrew. :)
Really have to say I am loving your painting on the tracks. Think I'm going to nick this (with appropriate honors given of course)
The command tank in your exterminators (good use of Manchurian bitz btw) actually comes off more like an Annihilator, which is a good thing- gives it some nice distinctiveness in look and play.

Arise, thread! Overcome the shadow of the grave and shamble through page 1 of the 6mm forum once more!*
The IG continue to acquire vast quantities of tanks. First up, ersatz superheavies, that I tested Dave's paintjob on:

Then, the 12 ragnor-russes:

The final chimeras, in all their minervan scheme glory:

Which leads us to an army shot. There's pretty much nothing left for the Minervans, so here are all their army-specific models:

I left out the infantry, artillery, and other stuff that they share with the Steel Legion. I think I need more Russes... what?

*That's what proper thread necromancy sounds like, FYI
