Well, my attempts to create a mascot to promote better use of cutlery around the world went terribly wrong and I ended up with this     however im confident alternative uses could be found.



This is a relatively complex model cast in 11 pieces across 4 moulds, allowing a certain degree of pose-ability:
Torso
2 x blade arms
Rear leg A + toe
Rear leg B + toe
Front leg A +toe
Front leg B + toe


The torso was cast in a 3 part mould and as a result of this it can suffer from serious mould lines on the underside, however there are not really visible once the legs are stuck on. The 3 power rods on the blade arm also cast somewhat unreliably, as long as 2 complete lengths of red cast per arm im regarding it as a success. The rivets and serrations also come out slightly rounded off. The model can be constructed using just super glue, but pinning or green stuff reinforcement makes it far more robust, as does mounting it on a base.

BlackLegion mentioned that it looked too large in the test cast image, however, the model's height and length can vary significantly depending on how the legs are positioned, as shown below.

Epic- A version of the game with even smaller models that is often dominated by titans which are vehicles the size of a large building and have the ability to pwn...everything. There is also infantry, whose only function in Epic is to provide valuable traction to Titans walking across snowy paths.

The serrations could be filed by end users, of course.

Does the alloy contain lead? Remember to wear your breath mask!

It may be wise to set a few aside in case someone, somewhere, makes something new for a non-ordered trade.

Beautiful work. I still can't stand the design of the original FW model, but your sculpting and casting of this is superb.

Yes, and the new alloy im planning to start using will be almost entirely lead (+some bismuth to lower melting point). Ive only been using an extractor fan and kept the windows open rather than a breath mask as the product sheet for the alloys states that the lead content of the fumes is negligible at under 500c.

I tested a lead free alloy, and found the castings were extremely brittle to the extent that you'd snip a piece from the pouring vent lump and it would snap in 3 different places

And with "to big" i meant it isn't a 1:5 reduction of the Wh40k model. But it has the right size in comparison to an Epic Dreadnought. For the FW Grey Knights Dreadnought which is a 1:5 reduction of the WH40k model the Cutlery Monster would be to big (the Epic Dreadnought is rougly 20% bigger than the FW Epic Grey Knights Dreadnought).
But i certainly won't blame you! Becaue:
1. You did this only with pictures, no actual model!
2. Your modelling skills far outpace my skills!
3. It is a piece of beauty!

Thanks Apoc! I received my Cutlery today!    The only question I have is how do I put them together? There are a few different types of legs/blades included however there are only 4 of the small, front "Z-shaped" legs with the stuff you sent. Are there supposed to be more for 6 monsters?

Do you have a "putting them together" tutorial by any chance?

gah...yes there should be 6 z-shaped front legs for 6 monsters, my apologies, ill cast you 2 more (wont be casting again till copper arachnid moulded, which should be 1-2 days). The Z-shaped front legs can glue on anywhere to the front of the the disc at the bottom of the torso, the long rear legs glue onto the two protrusions at the lower back of the torso (again grenstuff/pinning recommended.

If you require additional assistance i can draw a diagram. Sorry for the inconveniance, the masters were not made with ease of assembly in mind   (although i have tried to modify them a bit to aid that)

Ahh! good to know! Thought my modelling skills had dropped way down.   I figured the front legs would go on the crossbar section under the chin. Glad you filled me in.

So 1 pair per monster then? That makes front legs for 4 monsters to go then

how many z shaped front legs do you have?  each cutlery should have 2 long back legs (+2 small toes/blades), 2 smaller front legs (+2 small toes/blades), for a total of 4 legs per monster (+2 blade arms). There should be 11 pieces total per monster.
