Since the various Tyranid creatures may be made from different prey creatures, variations in colouration are fine.
Personally, I'd try to have at least one "theme" colour to tie everything together, but it's certainly not necessary.
Different colours may even make it easier to distinguish different creatures on the battlefield and make playing them less confusing.

I'd be inclined to say they're fine as they are. It's best to have some consistency between models in an army so that it doesn't look too bitty, but a few variations from one troop type to the next is fine.

I think the Genestealers might fit the overall theme if they had red claws, but that's about it.
On a side note, is that a stand of converted Hormagaunts on the far right? How'd you do it?

Thanks for the response, still a bit torn between the white or red claws. think I need to try and do a stand with red claws.
As for the Hormagaunts, yes, they are converted. This is a sneak peek of my work. I've been keeping this under wraps for a while and hoping to get teh conversion guide and pictures out once the whole Swarm's complete. Been at it for over two years!

Genestealers and Lictors are vanguard creatures, sent ahead of the main hive to sow dischord, sometimes decades in advance. So, they dont need to be the same as the main troops colour schemes. Add to this the fact that Genestealers take on the attributes of their host species, and you have a pretty free hand in colours. I like them how they are.

For my 40k swarm I made sure that every tyranid was a slightly different color. I paint them in batches of 15-30 at a time and drybrush half of them with scaley green and the other half in hawk turquoise. from there i take the whole lot and drybrush in different combination of scaley/white, hawk, hawk/white, purple, ultra blue, enchanted blue, and regal blue, sometimes adding in a bit of red, yellow, and whatever color may look good. usually one scaley and one hawk get the same drybrush colors, but due to the base color it makes them ever so slightly different. all in all it gives me a swarm that looks uniform, but with an almost organic individuality. so yeah, i say make them different. it adds character and uniqueness to the swarm! besides, have nids that look slightly different but all blend together. awesome.

They looks good like this. If you begin to paint again the things you've already painted, your army won't grow anymore !

I agree with everyone that they look great as it. A bit of variation always looks good.
