Well first things first, I'll say it: About bloody time!
Secondly: What is this?
Well, I ordered the first of my proper Epic Dark Eldar models two days ago, and they are here!
I've not got my camera at the moment, but I'll keep a running-working-blog-construction-update-thing going just as well.
So, what did I buy?
2 * Eldar Warhost Boxes
4 * Dark Eldar Jetbikes
What do I intend to do with it all?
Well, I'm really not sure, for the whole! I was intending the Jetbikes to become Slavebringers, but seeing the rather marvellous Vessel of Pain that Charad built...well, shall we say I'm tempted?
Now, what have I actually done so far?
I've clipped up some Striking Scorpions (mainly stripping the helmet back a bit) to go with the Banshees to become Wyches. And they don't look too bad. No paint on them yet, but they're not as neat as Charad's (me being an incompetent modeller and him being substantially more competent), with no actual resculpting involved.
Hopefully the painting should make them non-Craftworld enough! (4 Stands so far)
Also, I was experimenting with the warpspiders and found that, by clipping down their spinners you can almost get them to do okayish as Incubi punishers. If I was able to glue the footery (technical term) bits I'd cut off back onto their backs, then I'd have successfully modelled the Incubi 'fist backpole things', but I couldn't so I didnt'!
I did, however, find that clipping the roundedness out of the Warpsider's backs also helped a bit, so that hopefully with a bit of paint on them they'll look obviously like the Incubi they're supposed to be.
I also trimmed up a Farseer so he can hopefully stand in as the Archon until I figure out how to model properly at 6mm! (2 Stands, Archon 'n' Incbui)
Unfortunately, my camera is an hour and a half's bus journey away, so no photos just yet!
Bits of a jetbike lying around waiting to be played about with. Hopefully I can fashion a vehicle or two in the next day or so.
Need to buy plasticard to make spikes from.
