In the CANCON Tourney a Phantom titan failed it's holofields save and then reverted to its RA save - or got to re-roll the holofields save I forget exactly - which helped it avoid destruction. Is this correct? I was under the impression that they get one or the other. |

Swordwind: 1.1.3 Eldar Technology: Holofields: ...Holofields provide TItans with a special 3+ saving throw that can be taken instead of the Titan's normal saving throw. ...If a vehicle that has a Holofield also has RA, it is allowed to re-roll its saving throw unless hit by Lance. So yes, 1 or the other, but RA rerolls apply. SG |

Thanks Spectrar. Quote: it is allowed to re-roll its saving throw unless hit by Lance. So if it fails it's Holo save it gets a normal 5+ save or a 5+ RA save as well? |

A titan without reinforced armour gets just the 3+ holofield save. A titan with reinforced armour gets the 3+, then a save on its own armour save. |

Quote: (zombocom @ Jan. 25 2010, 03:01 ) A titan without reinforced armour gets just the 3+ holofield save. A titan with reinforced armour gets the 3+, then a save on its own armour save. Which is where the difference between MW and Lance comes in:- Revenants still get their Holofield save, and Phantom/Warlock get their Holofield save and the RA save ![]() Against MW, Lance and TK weapons All Eldar titans get only the Holofield save The point is that the Holofield throws off the aim causing a complete miss which is taken instead of the initial armour throw. This also applies to assaults, where 'Shields' only protect against FF while Holofields protect against both CC and FF. |

That's not true Ginger. The holofield entry makes specific reference to how MWs affect Eldar titans and reinforced armour. MW, TK, and lance all deny the re-roll (Which is made not at 3+ but at the base armour value of the titan). |
