Hi everyone! Got a question about the rules, 'cause i am a bit confused. So there's the stuff GW published, to be found on their website (a.k.a. online store) for download, with the one errata that came out just before they shut down the whole affair. The other thing is the Epic 2008 Handbook, which basically is a fan-improved and well-play-tested set of the E:A rules and additional army lists, and the GW errata incorporated some of the changes from the 2008 handbook. and there's other stuff like NETEpic, which is a game on its own and not E:A anymore. Am i correct? cheers, Markus |

NetEpic is a reworked version of Space Marine 2 and is totally seperate to any version of EpicA |

thanks! the 2008 Handbook was rejected by GW, right? But you guys here, who are using the lists pinned here, are you playing the "Handbook" rules or the official GW ones? another question: i can't seem to be finding the biel-tan list in the forums, so is the one in the 2008 handbook correct, or are you using the GW list? cheers, |

which list do you use for Eldar Biel-Tan? the list from the "Handbook 2008" is very different from the original GW one, and following the link in your signature i couldn't find any more info... |

Thanks! Seems to me that in the 2008 Handbook there are more changes to the Biel-Tan army list than in the official list + link you gave me. For example the armour save of the wraith guard is 4+ reinforced in the official list, but 3+ (NOT reinforced) in the handbook. Did i get that right? |

Hi mpaetauf, yes like Hena says only a subset of the rules changes in the Handbook 2008 were accepted by Jervis Johnson and the NetERC (Net Epic Rules Committee). My group still uses the Handbook 2008 and so do some others it seems, as it is convenient and easy to have all the lists and rules and FAQ in one package, and my own group just wanted a stable ruleset. However, my intention is to update the Handbook to reflect the NetERC revisions when I get time and motivation. If I recall correctly, I think the NetERC has some sort of major revision completion date set for mid 2009(??), so possibly a 'Handbook 2010' in line with NetERC revisions will be available then. I also gave a copy of the Handbook to the NetERC to update if they wanted, but nothing seems to have come of that at the current time. |

Hi! Haha weird thing.... i always thought the "Handbook 2008" was made by NetERC. @Mephiston: i'm from Austria, and there's two guys (me included) playing where i live, so it doesn't really matter. I just wanted to get an idea about all the rules versions out there, because my usual opponent is also quite confused and we end up using army lists from different rules sets (not that i think that it really decides who's going to win). I'd love to go to a tournament one day, but i'd have to go to Germany or even UK.... is there anything for E:A like the EURO GT the Warmaster players have? @topic: thanks @all for answers, you've been a great help! ![]() Markus |

There is a tournament in a couple of weeks in Brussels that's about the most international one I know of to date. That's using the french lists. The answer then is to pick what both of you like. The GW rules with 2008 update is probably the widest used rule's. Most lists should work with that. |

I really hate this. Perhaps EUK is right? Right to make it a small group decision affair. What is what and where? I read this updated list on worked done and nothing really in the same place and quite a few links dead in the internet water. Ordnung über alles! Achtung bei smetterling! |
