Sme is true for the Red Corsairs (which are my brainchild). List seems fine with the expeption that the Chaos Hunter seems to be a bit to expensive.

The list NEEDS playtesting. AFAIK only E&C plays the list currently and he doesn't do batreps.

He has painted a pretty army however :) I believe they have tested it a lot at wood green.

Black Templars is farthest of the lists. I think that it merely needs testing and reporting on boards.

They still look odd using thunderhawk transporters :)

Does it play correctly now? It just seemed like an air assault horde last time I played it.

They pretty much are an air assault horde currently, though sword brethren are pretty overpowered too with extra CC attacks. I've proposed 3+ 1 attack to Pulsar.

The transporter seem to work well, though need a special rule to allow formations to be carried in multiple ones.

thats because i was in the middle of painting my FW thunderhawks so i used all of them :)

as far as i can tell the list is playing quite well and having played +50 games, i don't know how many people out there have used it, so i don't know what the general idea's are.

and i've played 10 - 12 games using a ground pounding list but with one air support Thunderhawk it works ok.

i really like the thunderhawk transporters in the list, i think they fit well, and yes they might need special rule to allow formations to be carried in multiple ones.

version 3.4 should be up on here tomorrow or the next day.

Thanks

P.S. and Zombocom you were right about the Sword Breathren, in 3.4 they have CC 3+.

EDIT:  If you could take this to a BT thread, so this one can remain at least mostly on-focus, I would be appreciative.

One of my concerns, just recently discovered, is that the "French ERC" is taking development in their own direction, based, I believe, on the Markconz 2008 Handbook; they have some "older" versions of army lists, the Necrons being a strong example, that they have tweaked/developed on their own.  Not sure how that's going to play out, as there are some significant differences... the Necron list appears to be based around the "single action" design that only allowed them to move-and-shoot or move-and-assault.

From my skimming the forums from time to time it seems that they will go their own way regardless of what happens here. They are not interested in following at least Tyranids as far as I understand. Same applies basically to all other lists (Necrons possibly excluded as Hojyn is mainly the player and he seems to follow list here quite much). The last tournament there used the older version of list (pre Raiders).

If I read correctly (google is not perfect) the aren't interested in following people outside of France as they wouldn't play against them. Though (what was it called in english) Belgium (not sure) seem to have players using their lists as well since there is mixing of people in tournaments.

They have their own lists for Marines, IG, Orks, Eldar, LatD and Black Legion done. They are working on their own versions of Tau and AMTL at least at the moment. They also worked on Tyranids, but that seems to have slowed down in last few months (last conversations were when 9.0 came about(they tested some version with disposable using rules of grot to it and concluded that list is broken and thus abandoned it as far as understood)).

Note that above does suffer from my understanding of english based on googles understanding of french. Too many translations then to be correct most likely at all points .

Edit: I'm happy to be proven wrong though on all accounts. Also it would be interesting to hear the two people comments on the lists. By this I mean Matt and Joe, who are going to use those lists in the tournament in Belgium.

Edit2: They have an F-ERC site up and sticking that though google gives you a link to "What is F-ERC". That will enlighten those who ponders what they are about.

Hena, you're 100% correct!  :D

The F-ERC was born of the desire to "get things done" faster than on the old Specialist Games forum and to "get things the way we want them to be". IMO it's not actually any faster than what's being done here, but they have made a good job and managed to produce some nice-looking "codexes" (codices?) for several armies. These are being used by many French players and some Belgian players.

Notice that I say "they" because I'm not part of the F-ERC. I'm willing to act as a representative but most changes approved by the F-ERC are not to my taste and I usually stick to the lists and rules proposed here on TC.

Hey Hojyn!

Would it be possible for you to translate whatever the F-ERC's current version of the Tyranids is for me and email it to me?

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas too!

Sure, I'll ask for a "clean" file since the list is still in development and there's no "codex" yet. I'll PM you as soon as possible.

Hi

I'm part of 'French ERC'.
The F-ERC lists were designed for two main reasons :
- go faster than the lumbering debates on the old SG forum. Less people involved equal less (sometimes sterilous) debates. But it also means personal lobbying is stronger.
- provide a full Epic gaming kit in French language. This is important to introduce new, non English reader, players in Epic.

All this leads to some (radicaly) different points of view. But it's not so important : we have not many occasions to play with foreign players. And even so, it is simple to play the locally played rules/lists.
IMO, the only pity is all these lists add some confusion : some many differents lists, many sets of rules also. And that is the reason-to-be of the recent website F-ERC : (try to) give a simple and complete entrance to Epic.

But even if I'm a member of the F-ERC team, I mainly play with TC lists (and Handbook 2008), with Hojyn as an opponent.

Hmmm, Necron month seems to have been and gone!

Is there any chance of an update to the schedule? I've no idea were we are or what the plans are.

corey3750, the Necron Champion, decided to close any new development for "one year" after the release of Raiders, to allow that list to be played heavily in a "finished" state; so, battle reports, comments, and concerns are being looked at by him, but no changes will be made.

The "Other Four" Craftworlds are, essentially, done, with need for playtesting and possible tweaking.

Tyranid Month got "extended" due to the "French Invasion" and testing is on-going.

That Tau have had a new sub-Champion appointed and a new release is due out at the start of February...

That's about all I know... *laugh*

That is correct.  When Corey and I discussed this, it really wasn't meant as a slap to the face of the NetERC review schedule, although it possibly has been seen that way.  We just wanted the lists to be digested after so many months of change.

Corey is very busy with work but I do stay in touch with him and his boss occasionally lets him poke his head out of the burrow and come back and post here.  If you have anything concerning Necrons, by all means post a thread and I'll make sure I get a hold of the C'tan- er, I mean Corey.
