Fire arcs for super heavy tanks minor weapons: Was this ever voted on?

No I just stuck them in the handbook as a 'minor but sensible' clarification given the stat revamp of the baneblade.
If I recall correctly I think you were the one who proposed them, and no-one objected in the discussion thread - not even Hena (gasp!)  :D

I did indeed propose them (for a couple of reasons).

But, I'm big on votes. :)

Same, but votes should be left to cases where there is actual disagreement on an issue! If something is not contentious there is no point in voting, it just wastes peoples time.
If we get lots of people looking at the fire arcs in this change document and asking...

"OMG!! U DISTROYED EPIC WIV FIRE ARKS!?!?! WHYZ!??"

Then we know we're doing something wrong (or right perhaps...)  :p

Minor editing point. You have the transferred Indirect Fire rule worded exactly as it was in the Barrage section. I recommend the slight wording changes I made in 1.5 handbook (ie just remove the specific references to barrages so it is more clearly a general ability):

2.2.6 Indirect Fire
Some weapons are noted as having the indirect fire ability.
Units armed with indirect fire weapons are allowed to fire
indirectly if their formation takes a sustained fire action.
Units belonging to a formation that fails the action test may
shoot normally as part of their hold action, but may not fire
indirectly. Units firing indirectly receive the +1 modifier for
taking a sustained fire action. In addition, no line of fire is
required for indirect fire, as it is assumed that the attack is
fired high in the air so that the shots rain down on the target
and ignore any intervening terrain. Co-ordinates for the
attack are provided by ?spotters? that are either in other
friendly formations that do have a line of fire, or from orbiting
spy satellites or planes. Finally, the high trajectory used by
weapons firing indirectly greatly increases their range, but
means they cannot fire at targets that are too close by. To
represent this, weapons firing indirectly double their range,
but have a minimum range of 30cms.

Terrain Effects, the text added at the end has been around for a while and commonly used I think?

Armoured Vehicles: Infantry count as being in cover and receive the -1 to hit modifier (but no cover save) if they are touching an armoured vehicle or war engine, to represent their ability to take cover from enemy fire by crouching behind the vehicle. A maximum of 2 infantry units can claim this bonus per armoured vehicle (or per point of damage capacity if a war engine).

Here's something I just thought about while reading this... do you get the -1 to hit modifier if your infantry is touching *enemy* AVs/WEs?

Say, versus overwatch fire after moving to engage enemy tanks in clsoe combat?

It's probably already been suggestsed, but what about "Expendable" instead of "Disposable".

And I believe a line needs to be added to that rule: "A formation that consists of only disposable/expendable units suffers Blast markers as normal."

I had a chance to read this earlier and  thanks very much for taking the time to put this together. Great work.

There are a few things in it that I don't particularly agree with but nothing that I think would unbalance the game.

There is still a fair bit to be discussed but this is a great way to get the discussion focused

IDF:  How odd.  I distinctly recall editing that section to be generic instead of in reference to BP weapons.

Disposable:  I'll modify.

PG:  Having a single source to keep things focused was a major goal.

I believe that's the preserve of 'notes' rather than 'disposable'/'expendable'. The main rule itself should not have exceptions.

Thanks to the people who posted or sent proposed text revisions.  I'll sort through them and incorporate what I can but it will be next week.  I have midterms this week (along with the normal work/kid/wife schedule).

Hena:  There's only one version at the moment, but the revised doc I started has a version number (1.1).
