Hey, I just came across this entertaining little CGI movie, which will appeal to anyone who enjoys alternative/sci-fi WWII stuff: Nazi Robot Attacks! I thoought it was quite fun, very well made, and it has a neat little twist in the ending... Enjoy! ![]() ![]() |

Fantastic. I prefer my Iron Giants more Prussian than fascist, but what great work! |

Hi FS, Amazing! The American accents were horrible though... almost enjoyed the stereotype AMURIKINS, but some of the language just didn't flow well... sounded like Europeans trying to do American accents. Otherwise, absolutely brilliant! Very fun little film. Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. |

Amazing piece of work, wonder how long it took to do? Maksim, I tend to agree about the accents, a little odd and stilted but entertaining in a cartoon sort of way. |

Well, it was certainly much better than all those "Germans", "Russians","French" and "Japanese" in Hollywood films, you know... ![]() How about Nazis in the moon? |

Yeah, you're right about the voice acting, Maksim - it's the weakest link in an otherwise great little film. ![]() @ Mageboltrat, what's Casshern? I'm thinking it's an Anime, or have I got that waaaaay wrong? ![]() |

I saw this a while ago... I think that my favourite animation ever is the Blades of War one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgNtOMOxP0o I am not sure exactly why an Avatar and a Warlock are fighting... but I am prepared to let that go. |

I'm thinking it's an Anime, or have I got that waaaaay wrong? ![]() It's a live action movie by a Japanese music video director, it's absolutely amazing. This will explain it better than I can. http://www.gofishpictures.com/casshern/ ... _main.html http://www.apple.com/jp/quicktime/trail ... large.html Also the trailer shows the army of german style robots in action... which is where they look soo cool |

Cool. I picked up Cashern a while ago, but never got around to watching it... I guess that I have something to do this bank holiday weekend now. |

(firestorm40k @ May 04 2007,13:18) QUOTE @ Mageboltrat, what's Casshern? ?I'm thinking it's an Anime, or have I got that waaaaay wrong? ![]() Just about. It's live action, but with the armies of robots (and titan-sized war-engine - a gargant, basically) and style of the thing it's very manga. Very cool film, very nice feel. Too heavy on the symbolism and too light on intelligible causality for my liking, but hey, it had giant robots. |

You'll enjoy it. But also it will make your brain hurt. It does make sense. But not on the first watching. Don't worry if you don't get it. |

I think the term "inscrutable" covers Casshern pretty well. ![]() The visuals are almost overwhelming at times but extremely well done. Another Japanese film I'd recommend just based on visual style alone is Mamoru Oshii's Avalon. Not quite as image intensive but a well put together film. |

haven't seen that one yet... Will have to look up Avalon. Just finished watching the live action Death Note movies, which were fun. Just about to watch Initial D for a bit of silly car drifting action |
