Firstly is anyone doing or has anyone done EA files for AB3 I was considering doing some up. After seeing that the instruction manual for creating files is around 300 pages I just wanted to make sure I would not be wasting effort. My intention if I do do it is that each version of a list will be a separate selection so that official lists will still be available while experimental lists are being worked on and made available for play testing. Its quite a hard decision to go through with as the files will never save me the time taken creating them in making up fast and easy army lists. Possibly editing AB2 lists might be a better idea but I don't have the editor for it. I may never end up progressing with this as it might turn out to be too big a project to fit in with my other commitments. (I want to save hobby time for gaming and painting as well). |

I've been using an Excel speadsheet with VLOOKUP's and things for mine, but it needs some refinement. |

(Mark_Logue @ Jan. 31 2007,14:28) QUOTE I was considering doing some up. ?After seeing that the instruction manual for creating files is around 300 pages I just wanted to make sure I would not be wasting effort. If you do this, you will reaffirm my faith in some sort of supreme being. Unless you want me to be an atheist. Do the AB3 files and I'll praise what/whomever I need to to thank you for that effort. Oh, I just need Space Marines and IG, incase you wanted a starting point... |

Kn'Thrak on Wargamerau is working on the files at the moment so I have asked him if he would like any help. He has already updated the BFG files for 1.5 the link is in this thread. http://www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.p ... opic=30257 Maybe trying to find the install files for ABCreator for 2.2c would be a better option to just work on updating those files to the current list. |

http://web.aanet.com.au/metaphore/ab31ea1.ab Kn'Thrak (being officially an all round top bloke) has finished the files but as he is not an Epic player so would like some help with bug reporting. His email contacts for bug fixes are on the link. http://web.aanet.com.au/metaphore/bfg.html |

Haha! I'm an all round top bloke! OK. The file that is there, is a really, really bad beta. No two ways about it, it sucks, and it's messy. However, it's a good starting point for a decent release. I'm going to start with the Imperial forces, as their lists are older, and should be more accurate, and rebuild them step by step. This is because All the races are currently stuck in one file and it's a massive mess, plus to do the new nid rules properly (from what I understand of them), will involve a little work. hopefully i'll learn the rules and stats of epic through this project, and eventually (when i get a job again), get an army to get into this game, because i personally thing the SGs are the better GW products. |

I had them working two years ago and a computer crash lost them all. I have been to busy to redo them. I found 3 print outs the other day but I do not know if they are of any use. I can scan and send them if yo want to check it out. It will be several months before I get time to even look at them. Gary |

OK, i'm at work on the nid files. This whole node and brood thing is a bit wierd, but i'm getting there. As I understand it, I can purchase a dominatrix as a stand alone formation. For a brood however, i'd need to have a dominatrix or another synapse creature attached to it for it to be useable? If so, would it be be better to allow the user to select said synapse creature as an option to the brood, or do players simply allocate synapse creatures to brood formations at the start of the game? |

Well, I know nothing about AB3, so I've been designing a spreadsheet to use. So far the SM and IG tabs are progressing, the Ork tab is in the chrysalis stage, and I haven't touched any of the other races. Feel free to take a look and see what you think. http://home.comcast.net/~kudby/EpicArmyBuilder.xls |

or do players simply allocate synapse creatures to brood formations at the start of the game? Yep players can allocate them at the start of the game and change those allocations over the course of the game as well. |

OK, delayed here. I have a tyranids file for ab2. http://web.aanet.com.au/ab2/Tyranids.ea Stick it in your army builder/data folder over the old nids file. Let me know how it goes, if it works well then I'll convert the files for ab3 and get cracking on the imperium races. |
