The amount he's done for conservation of Australian native species is amazing. Let's hope the work he's left behind is a suitable epitath. (sp?) RIP Steve Irwin. |

I had the pleasure of seeing Steve do his show with the crocs at Australia Zoo last Christmas. He was a great performer and a passionate man. It is a pitty, he will be missed around the world. As already stated he has done a great service to wildlife and Australian Tourism. Crickey CAL |

It is quite a shock - especially that it wasn't to a snake or croc either... I know he was much admired & loved by many people around the world - especially in Australia, but it is especially sad that he has left two small children. It's a real shame. |

I am sorry to see this. He was stuck with a 'barb" that was between 8 and 12 inches in length. I do not know many people who could take that to the chest and live. Regardless of the venom that was also released into his chest cavity. He will be missed. dafrca |

I had heard about his death from a neighbor, but it didn't really hit home until I see a piece about it on tv. What a tragic loss, and leaving a wife and two children makes it even worse. |
