Open by HRH last night in Melbourne, the Commonwealth games have begun!

Good luck to all those from fellow Commonwealth Countries out there -UK, Canada, NZ, Malta...pls excuse any others here Ive forgotten

We'll see who has the most gold in 11 days  :cool:

And if you dont know what I'm talking about you arent in "the family", or maybe you once were but you were flthy damned rebels and got 'uninvited'  :laugh: (yes, I'm joking...)

Well they are now over and I hope you enjoyed watching them as much as I did!

Final gold medal tally:
Aust 84 (a record!)
England 36
Canada 36
India 22
Sth Africa 12

And yes V - Malta won a silver and a bronze!

Boy, you should hear the furore over here, heads are gonna roll.
The strangest thing is 2 medals are probably about right for such a tiny place but previously more medals were gained, mostly in shooting (darned Malta) and boxing.
