Are there still copies of Firebase available for download? I only appear to have issues 7 and 6 (part 2) |

Blimey that goes back aways. I wrote a few articles for that IIRC. I don't have any copies though sorry. |

It might not work for everyone, but I used to write small poems for my Scribd account when I was after certain documents. Is that still how Scribd runs? I liked doing the poems because whilst it was mainly to get download access, it was something meaningful that wasn’t too onerous. |

It looks like there’s a read free for 30 days option? I’d be amazed if that didn’t basically let you have them? I’m sure I’ve got loads of stuff out of scribd before I had an account. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I tried to sign up for a free account some time ago but I have some very restrictive settings for third party cookies and content and consequently I am not able to complete the process. |

set up another profile with default settings. sign up, get files. remove profile. this isn't herpes; you can get rid of it |

jimmyzimms wrote: set up another profile with default settings. sign up, get files. remove profile. You maybe misunderstood my issue. My security settings preclude me being able to sign up for an account since they do some shady third-party cookie BS when you sign up. I'm not interested in lowering my security to create an account |

Sounds a bit like most websites which use Auntie/Uncle Google… I hadn’t thought Scribd was so bad, but there you go. Is Scribd the only place that has them? (I don’t know why it’s so popular for hosting out of print wargaming stuff). If one was really desperate to use Scribd and worried about suspicious cookies, one could either use a public computer or use a machine that you wipe afterwards (after recovering the files, of course). If you had a good backup system, I suppose you could do that pretty easily. |

Might use a public system. Also just don't like them because of the rampant piracy. Not sure how they are even in business |
