Anyone heard from the man of late? The last I had heard (late last year) he had moved house and was sorting himself out. Looking at his profile its now over a year since he last logged on (sep 03)
Any news of him? Is all well?

Signius disappeared off the face of the Earth.
I know where he lives, but I'm not taking a two-hour drive there when he won't even bother to respond to phone calls or E-mails.
He might have given up Epic for all I know.
He was kind of fickle when I met him so who knows?
He still does owe Mojarn and I was trying to reconcile their deal (Mojarn sent his end, but Signius didn't cover his... ) and I finaly gave up and offered to cover Signius'es debt as best I could from my own stocks. Mojarn refused because it wasn't my problem, but I still plan to send him some "extras" as small compesation when we finally wrap up a trade we have had goin on for awhile (I owe Mojarn some Orks... ).
Other than that, I know no more than anyone else.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.
P.S. I am upset with Signius/Aaron though. I don't know why he is being so flakey and, let's face it, downright rude. I'm not a pushy person so I am upset when he ignores me and all I want to do is take care of problems (And return a book he lent me... but still no return call or E-mail.).

Hi!
Sounds like someone who, for the time being (if not permanently) is out of the hobby. So, I doubt you'll be hearing from him.
No worries Maksim, you did the right things and have acted responsibly. We're all adults, so if he did not respond to your callings its obvious he has no desire to.

Any friendship must, by force, be two sided. You can only go so far and then you have to wait for the other person to reach out.
It sounds as if, for what ever reason, he just does not want contact. The fact you have something of his and he will not even respond to you about that means he is cut off contact.
Too bad, but I would avoid thinking it is against you. I am sure, even without knowing what is in his mind, it is larger then just you.

I agree with this. No one can really know what things go on in peoples lives and minds. Each must deal with their own issues. You (maksim) did the appropriate thing. The ball is in his court. He has decided not to return the favor.

I agree in that there must be bigger issues at the heart of it - he was all dead keen before he moved house and all. He had als volunteered to produce some trophies when I organsied the 2003 Painting Comp, but then as you say, he was sucked into the Eye and all came to naught...
As an aside, I did a really good trade with him earlier last year in which he threw in heaps of extras so I dont think its him going deep to welch out on Mojarn's deal.
Kudos to you though Maksim for trying the fill the breach. Good on you mate, its that kind of comradeship around here that makes this the best forum and gaming community around.
And why I miss it heaps when I'm away.

From all you know, the fellow could have also died in some accident. I'm not completely sure, but I didn't hear of dead people replying to e-mails or phones...

TFH has a point, we do not know for sure why he cut you (us) off. All we really know is we lost contact.
In any case Maksim, as others have said, you did a fine job of trying to reach him. If he is still with us and wants the contact, he knows where we are.

I think there is only one way to solve the mystery once and for all. Maksim, find a day when you can spare a few hours and get to his place.

Hi!
True, TFH, if hurt or worse, that would account for the lack of cimmunication.

Quote (the_fifth_horseman @ 08 2004 Oct.,04:22) | I think there is only one way to solve the mystery once and for all. Maksim, find a day when you can spare a few hours and get to his place. | The only issue I have with this is that if the reason we have no contact is that he does not want it, Maksim showing up at the door is the wrong thing to have happen.
I think Maksim has done what is best, left messages and sent emails. Now if he was hurt or worse, others would have those. If he just does not want contact then they will be ignored, and if he does want contact at some point, he will respond to them.

The idea is tempting, but I don't want to show up on his doorstep uninvited.
That's my own ethics telling me not to do so.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.
