Would anyone be interested in a Warhammer Roleplay game using the AD&D 3rd Ed rules? Specifically 3.5 with the WFRP mod from the Herocraft team. Before I start writing a long intro just wondered if there was the interest around. if enough people are up for it, then I will also post on PBEM.com, I am hoping for a party of around 4-6 characters (preferably 6 as you will get at least 2 drop outs as the game goes on). I will host it and DM it on the EPICentres forums. |

You do know that there used to be a Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, and that there is a 40K roleplay out there on the web (search, if you cant find it I have a copy somewhere)? Just checking. ![]() |

I am interested. But how do you host a RPG on a forum like this? ![]() |

Not only do I know of it, but I ran the entire Space Wolf campaign once ![]() The 40k RPG are good rules but don't work over the net as it is more combat based and combat is always slow over the net. Scenarios that require proper role-playing like who dunnits are better over the net with a sprinkling of combat to maintain interest. Last time we set up a private forum on the EPICentre for roleplaying, that worked quite well. |

We also ran a couple of campaigns on Playbyweb.com which were quite successful but they went through a spate of database errors :s. |

Did you run it like a PBEM game or is there a feature in the forums I am not aware of? |

Like a PBEM game, as players came from all around the globe, plus with my cluttered timetable I was often posting at random times between 3 am and during work hours! They really are 24 hour games, lol. Normally I set a minimum of 3-5 posts a week, but the reality was that everyone posted much more often than that. |

Hi! Interesting, never played in one before, but since its available around the clock it would be easy to participate in. Primarch |

My thoughts exactly. Considering the amount of time I spend here I should have no problem posting at the very least 5 times a week. Count me in. ![]() |

Cool - of course the question remains of which system and where to host it. EPICentre forums - no online dice roller, otherwise standard forums and features, VERY reliable PlayByWeb.com - Online dice rollers incorporated into the forums which eliminates cheating from certain nefarous net players, standard forum features but has had reliability issues in the past. Rules: AD&D 3rd ed with the WFRP mod - Never tried this before AD&D 3rd ed - I have run 2nd Ed campaigns but despite having the books I have yet to run a 3rd Ed campaign WFRP - I have run this several times and it is suited for a low combat RPG, though some of the rules seem archaic in comparrison to some of the more modern sets. Probably the more ideal one if I am hosting it as I won't slip up as often! |

WHFRP would be cool. I played it once but unfortunately the group split up some 14 years ago. ![]() ![]() |

If we are all agreed then - WFRP it is then. Character disposition would be from 2 warriors, 2 rangers, 1 rogue and an academic (starting in Stirland, the Empire). Humans mainly with a max of 0-1 Wood Elf, 0-2 halflings and 0-1 Dwarf character. Characters will be generated by the DM using the WFRP Character Generator application and emailed out once a choice of race, and beginning career is chosen (first career will automatically be completed, trappings will be included with the character). I will give you and Primarch first pick of the characters, then open up the rest to PBEM.com |

I am sure that you could put together a quick dice-rolling program quite easily. Making it a feature of the forums would be more difficult though. |

I already looked at that option, I have run the 'Tides Of Chaos' campaign on the EPICentre forums before, but if the beginning is imminent then it seems that using something already established would be easier - in the event that we used the EPICentre forums we would use the Irony Games online dice roller, it is quick flexible. Just depends on what everyones wants. |
