I've recently waxed lyrical about the Gaunt's Ghosts books in this thread... http://www.epic40k.co.uk/epicomm....6;t=639 ... but has anyone read the other Black Library books by Dan Abnett? The Inquisitor books and his WFB books? Basically what are they like and how do they stack up against the Ghosts books? I flicked through Titan II, but I'm not much of a comic/graphic novel fan, so these are out ![]() Jackhammer |

The Inquisitor books are OK. Think of "Gaunt the Inquisitor". ![]() As for the Titan graphic novels, they're HORRIBLE. I don't like the storyline and the style of drawing gouges my eyes out. As always, this is just M(NS)HO. I am not a literacy critic, thank God. |

If anything, the Inquisitor books are a little better than Gaunt. Mr Abnett has a few problems when it comes to large bodies of troops and descriptive passages of what people are doing and where. Things can get a bit confused. The Inquisitor books deal with a small group of characters and it is easier for both him and the reader to keep up. There are also a few surprised in the books, things that you thought wouldnt happen, and that is great. The only major fault that I can find with the Inquisitor series is about half way through book three (I think, or two) he goes off to a minig community and about a third of the book is taken up with events which actually have nothing at all to do with the main story or anything. |

I personally like the Titan graphic novels. The stories are nothing to write home about, but the artwork is magnificent. I have a dream project in the back of my head to build some of those Titans. I own only numbers one and two. I still haven't read the third. Excellent inspiration! Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. |

The Titan books are okay- the first books artwork isn't great- but book 3 and 4 are superb.. -I also think that the Inquisitor books are Dan Adnett's best- and I quite enjoyed the mining world bit even if it wasn't really relevant.. quite fancy an Epic Translithopede now! ![]() |
