Post subject:  Petition for Moderator Reform at E-A Forums

Many of the members of the official E-A playtest forums have been unhappy with the moderatorship of the boards. This is a petition to see the moderator changed at the E-A playtest forums.

This is not a petition to bash the current moderator, Jervis, or GW in any form. It is also not a petition to bash Epic-Armageddon, the game or the official E-A Playtest forums.

Please leave the following information to be submitted to Jervis when there is a goodly number of supporters.

--------------------------------

1. Your E-A board name or E-mail nickname.

2. The statement: "Please change the official E-A forum's moderator."
(You are welcome to cut and paste this statement.)

3. A simple reason why you are unhappy with the boards that can constructively criticize the current moderatorship, but doesn't make personal attacks upon the moderator.

--------------------------------

Anyone who plans to play or purchase a copy of Epic-Armageddon is welcome to sign the petition regardless of whether they are a member of the E-A Playtest boards. It doesn't matter whether you have no posts or 378. In other words, you don't have to be a regular poster to sign the petition.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Petition #1

1. Maksim-Smelchak

2. Please change the official E-A forum's moderator.

3. I am unhappy with the E-A Playtest forum's current moderator because I feel that he unevenly moderates the members of the board and also treats those same members roughly and with less than the level of respect I would desire for the E-A Playtest forums.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Petition #2

1. Gandalf the Grey.

2. Please change the official E-A forum's moderator.

3. I am in complete agreement with what Maksim has written. The current moderatorship has taken away the fun and enthusiasm I had for Epic-Armageddon, and keeps me from wanting to post feedback and other comments in the future.

OK, mod hat on...

I just wanted to make a short post here. I have kept out of this discussion due to a number of reasons. While I have no strong objection to this thread, I would like to throw out a word of caution. At this point, the thread is remaining civil, and this is important. I will be keeping an eye on this thread, and if it deteriorates to flames, personal attacks or abuse in general, I will be forced to delete posts and/or close the thread.

I strongly support everyones right to voice an opinion, but this board will not tolerate attacks or abuse. In addition, I am very cautious of any 'conflict' between the two boards. These two forums run in tandem, and I see them as complimenting each other well together. I really dont want a situation where people are members and supporters of one or the other only.

I hope that people dont see this as a 'strong arm', and I will not get involved further unless I see it necessary. I respect the members of this board for their maturity and abilty to form and articulate an opinion without resorting to more 'normal' flames, etc and I honestly dont feel that I will need to worry about this.

I will also add a standard disclaimer - viewpoints represented here belong to the individual. They should be taken as the voice of a group of individuals.

---

UPDATE: It seems that the above post can be taken as my disapproval of this thread, nothing could be further from the truth. I wanted to add that I support people in this. If there is something which is getting in the way of your enjoyment of Epic, and is holding you back from participating in the development and enjoyment of the game, then it should be presented.

My motive for the above post was not aimed at the existing members of the site as much as any new members who join up simply to disrupt.

Please, express your views here. My apologies if it seemed that I was over-reacting.

Petition #4

1. Primarch

2. Please change the official E-A forum's moderator.

3. The moderator's tone and attitude in response to views contrary to his own has often been harsh, belittling, or both. His impartiality is questionable. I request that the forum moderator be changed.

Petition #5

1. Tas

2. Please change the official E-A forum's moderator.

3. The moderator's mind is closed to any opinion other than his own and frequently uses harsh language, snide comments and direct attacks to force his point of view on others.  All of which are contrary to the aims and objectives of the playtester boards.  In addition, he has been observed to take credit for others' suggestions and thoughts and palm them off as his own.

Petition #6

1. Dooglebug

2. Please change the official E-A forum's moderator.

3. As a member of the original Playtest Board I have felt less inclined to contribute to the discussion, to the degree that I rarely visit the board and haven't posted for some months, in part this is due to the activity of the Moderator. I feel he has difficulty in acting impartially in discussions he is involved in.
