OK, I had to go over to the WotC message boards, D&D section to ask a question for our group. And while there I was possesed with the odd need to see who was the top poster there and how many posts they had. The top bidder had 65,535 posts. Oh boy... Dafrca. |

Hi! I'd never worry how many post we have since we are WAAAY out of our league comparing to top posters on other forums. If you visit Enworld (RPG forums) high posters are in the high thousands low tens of thousands, same thing on portent. Heck, the average on some boards SURPASS that total messages on this forum so far! Primarch |

I am not even sure why I wanted to look other then I saw a couple of posters I knew had more then 2-3k a long time ago, so I went and looked. The person with the top spot had been a member for less then four years. That means an average of like 45 to 50 posts a day to hit a number like that. I just thought it was funny. ? dafrca |

Dafrca, I'm happy with our level of traffic. We don't have career "board" professionals, which is fine by me. Most top posters got there by posting lots of small messages with little meaning. I hope noone asks me how I got to the top of the E-A Playtesters List! Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. |

Hi! The tracking of post and the little titles above the names reflecting that while seems to get pretty out of control on some boards. Its sort of a culture of if "I have 'x' amount of posts more than you my opinion is better than your". Silly but explains some of the attitudes one may encounter. Commander Primarch, It was that very issue that caused Wizards to delete the post count from the posts. At one point your post count showed, but so many people were doing just what you said, giving more creadance to the person with the higher number of posts that they blocked the number from showing up. Just before they blocked the number from showing, there were even a few posts where people were saying things like; "how would you know, you are a newbie with only 5 posts". It was sad. dafrca |

Hi! I remember that going on on the Wizard boards and actually saw the kind of posts you mentioned. Its human nature to always seek some sort of advantage over one another. Even something as triffle as a post count will serve. Very sad indeed. By the way, from now on everything I say is law and must be agreed with. I have 1123 post, so it must mean I'm always right! ?  Then again it may just mean I'm a sad, lonely man with no one to talk too...  But thats COMMANDER lonely sad man to you! ? ? Primarch |
