Predator, Baal, Razorback, Whirlwind, whatever. The Rhino is an odd vehicle to me. It just doesnt seem like something 10+ marines would be caught dead in, and the normal Rhino is really like the weakest troop carrier in the game. I think the Razorback is closer to what I would expect an elite force to have, but it still seems underwelming. That being said tho, I still love it, and my favorite variant is the Vindicator. One of my first AT/SM1 purchases, I painted it up in the old Emperor's Childrens colors and used them alongside my Land Raiders. Just loved that Thunderer 3+ to hit. When GW switched to that absolute horrid monstrosity they called a Vindicator in SM2/TL, I was pissed. Stopped thinking about Vindicators altogether. I loved the multipart Vindicator for Epic40k and still do. When they re-designed the Rhino in 40k, and released the new Vindicator, I loved it. I dont have any interest in owning it for 40k, but its a cool tank nontheless. I don't own the EpicA version, but I assume its cool. I think I saw some old Command Rhinos or something from Forge World back in the day. Dont know if they are still available but it would have been cool to see those in Epic, along with some rules for them. Like giving a bonus to steal the initiative or something. |

Are you referring to the Damocles Command Rhino? They've got them E:A. Not sure other systems. |

Holy crap went looking at Forge World for that tank and wow I have been out of the loop. Look at all the Land Raider variants: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-4 ... er_reset=1 And yes, the Damocules seems to be it, although this looks a little different than the one I think I saw YEARS ago... http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-4 ... One formation on the board, per turn, may receive the Leader ability . Determine which formation Rhino when the formation containing the Damocles Command Rhino is activated. In addition, replace the '5cm' Combined Assault restriction within the Commander and Supreme Commander abilities with 'any formation on the table.' |

Very cool what are you using the metal tops for? Some kind of observational equipment? Btw I love the 113 although I've heard some negatives about it. I've even heard the Striker isnt as good as some of the things the 113 is as good at. It just seems like a cool platform to make variants for. |

But I call the 3rd one a Forward Observer version and the bottom two, Combat Engineer versions ... As far as the M113 ... it was an old design. Mechanically reliable, but the flat sides provided very little ballistic protection. The best armor was in the front, because that is where the engine is ! The Stryker is a wheeled IFV, so it will have some different mobility preformance. The M2 Bradley was the M113 replacement for most of them. It had problems some too ... But it provides more protection and firepower than the M113 ... Kind of glad I don't have to be too concerned about it anymore ... ![]() |

Yeah the 113 had tissue paper for armor. My uncle used to tell me about seeing army grunts sitting on top of them in Vietnam as a landmine would turn them into a death trap. They said the top was the safest place on the apc ![]() |

Holy crap whats a sabre? Is that an AT Rhino cariant of some kind? Ha love the old school lasguns as barrels. Man i was turning ebay upside down just to find a few for my squats. Speaking of squats... Look at what I am working on for 40k 2nd... Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: So 3 warrior squads, 2 thunderer, a warlord in exo armor, living ancestor, master engineer, and 2 adventurers I am planning on using as crew to a support weapon, like a Trantuala. Hope to score a trike some day and then this will be set. Have barely enough arms and old school imperial lasguns and pistols to pull this off. Also have the heavy weapons for the thunderers too. We wont talk about what it costed to do this. Lol |
