Hi all, Just a little post to let you know I'll be AWOL for a few days at least. I can't remember if I've ever mentioned it but it's no secret that I suffer from Crohn's disease and unfortunately things have taken a turn for the worse. My doc is arranging for me to be admitted to hospital in the morning so hopefully I'll be back on my feet in a few days. I'm just wondering if taking minis and paints up to the hospital is acceptable...does anyone know? ![]() I look forward to annoying you all again when I return! ![]() |

A few of my friends suffer from Crohn's; hope the hospital trip helps out. I'd be surprised if they objected, as long as you weren't using undercoat sprays! |

![]() Cheers E&C! I'll be sure to do the undercoats tonight! ![]() I'm sure I'll be fine, they had me on a powerful medicine before that worked and are probably just going to stick me back on that till it calms down. They were trying to put me on something not as strong but it doesn't seem to have worked out...annoying but it's just one of those things. By the way, did you get my pm about preordering the Cyborgs? |

Easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Keep anything that requires ventilation, thinners, or is otherwise flammable out of there. Basically water soluble is probably kosher; otherwise leave it at home |

Hi! I am sorry you suffer from this condition, as it is a chronic lifelong disease. I hope the stay is beneficial and your inactive phase last a long time! I would not think the painting should be a problem. Just mention they are water based and have no oils or fumes and it should be fine. Primarch |

elsmore wrote: Not sure my other half (a nurse) would allow it, but you can only try. ![]() Good luck with your trip. I have similar (UC) - it's a pain in the arse! Try coming off wheat and diary - that helps some people. ![]() Ah, very similar indeed Elsmore! I've asked several gasteronterologists and 2 dieticians about whether I should change my diet, every one of them said that it is purely a genetic condition and that diet has no relevance. I'll maybe look into this and give it a go once I'm back out, won't do any harm to give it a go. How do you keep with it, are you ok? |

Primarch Thanks Primarch, although I'm assuming you meant "inactive phase will not last a long time"?! ![]() Only kidding bud, I really appreciate the kind words and I'm sure I'll be fighting fit in a few days again. Maybe I'll get on with the Jannisaries and Myrmidons stats for the Marhaf while I'm cooped up as well! ![]() Cheers! |

Failing that bring some army lists to write up. They always allow that. |

My nephew has Crohns disease, he used to eat really crappy food all the time (american crappy food, so *really* crappy) and drank about half a gallon of milk a day and was having crippling flare-ups quite frequently, he moved in with my sister-in-law and his cousin they have him on a vegan diet and he hasn't had an episode in over 2 years now.... I know a few people with these kind of conditions and almost all of them had/have really crappy diets with minimal fruits and veg, loads of dairy and fat.... maybe it's just a coincidence of course but you have to wonder what 25+ years of eating processed crap does to your innards!! @Bissler, I hope you're back on your feet soon! |

elsmore wrote: However, I know that the condition is almost unheard of in South East Asia, and they don't eat much dairy at all... Or processed foods. Seriously that shit will kill you. elsmore wrote: Best of luck - hope you're feeling better soon! To a speedy recovery! Refuah Shlema |
