I'm happily married and love it. However, it entails living with another person who does not always share everything they are thinking, and that sometimes results in very odd surprises. This is one of those suprises.
First, a necessary digression. Several months ago my grandmother passed. Grandma was a very arts-and-crafts kind of person. Among the many things she'd made was a needlepoint Christmas village. It's a set of buildings made from needlepoint panels, with a music box inside each one. Each plays a different tune.
This weekend, my wife asked me if I would clean up the table I use for gaming. I did so without really thinking about it.
Upon returning from running errands, I find that my gaming table is now inhabited by a needlepoint Christmas village.

Obviously, removing said village is absolutely out of the question.

I'm REALLY tempted to get out the 40K or WHFB minis and play a skirmish game using the houses for terrain.
Or, alternately, I may start slowly adding miniatures to the scene and see how long it takes her to notice the Norman Rockwell scene has been invaded by space-elves.
