Hostile Stars game in the foreground. Seeds of War in the background. DRM display behind that.

Some brief thoughts...

Firstly, many thanks to everyong who wandered up to say hi - some old faces and some new. It was great to meet everyone, and I appreciated the time that people spent with us.

The show itself was quite busy, and it seemed to have a higher attendence than last year. The halls stayed busy until around 3.30pm, while last year it got a little quiet soon after lunch. There didnt seem the range of merchandise of previous years, and going only by the attendance and demo games, skirmish games will be big this year. The demo games in general really raised the bar, and even the relatively small ones were very well put together.

Both Sow and HS were very well attended, and we stayed busy through the whole day, answering questions, getting feedback, talking to customers and generally doing something that wargamers are bad at - being social!

If anyone else was there, please feel free to post your thoughts on the day here.

Could say that twice without it gettin out of style. Sometimes I wonder how there ever is a game.
But then I realise that as soon as the game is on being social is governed by rules... :o
Dang, got to find them dried frogpills. This ADHD/AspS isn't helping.

If you got shots of the Seeds of War it would be splendid to see them.
And you got Hostile Stars showed off full and well?

Well I sat and watched a Demo Iain was running that really intrigued me. Interesting conservation of momentum mechanics.

Always great to see ya Iain!

I definitely had my most relaxed salute ever. First time in...well.. many.. I wasn't running around delivering models or helping on a table of some form. With my only real project at the moment being Greenskins for WHFB, and my budget being zero it was pretty much a good chance to catch up with old friends and see what everyone else was up to rather than a shopping trip of any great kind.

Always good to see the DRM guys & catch up a bit. Got myself one of the new Moridian launchers too, so you can expect the first model of a destroyed one, crawling with Krayt to appear on the hobbyBrush as soon as its running ;)

Sorry I missed some of the rest of you. I must make more of an effort in future to catch more people at these events!

Good Show all round! :)

What a day. Despite being a tad sleep deprived Salute was a lot of fun. Good to meet you E&C, hope I was still vaguely coherent whilst I was talking to you. Loved your 'medium' tank, very cool. ;)
Good to see Paul again and catch up with a few other people I rarely see too.

Not so many bring n buy bargains this year, although I did get a few classics from some of the rummage bins at one of the shops.

Spotted some fantastic new miniatures which will have to grace my painting table at some point too, or at least the lead pile...
Some of Taban Miniatures ISC looked particularly awesome, as did the very elegant miniatures and art Kingdom Death had on show. My mind was also blown looking at the Studio McVey stand as I'd assumed their collectors line were all 54mm models, rather than teeny delicate 35mm - my respect for the McVey's painting skills was increased even more! ;D

Mojarn - I think they were a variety of scales, up to 1/6th.

All in all a great show - see you next year folks!

Gabe
