I was just curious if anyone had tried to use old Board Game maps tplay epic games on? One of the locals has some old ASL boards he is trying to dump. He suggested to me to use them with my 6mm Sci-Fi. The layouts look nice and all, but that would mean the layout would be "Flat". Thoughts? ![]() dafrca |

Hi! These maps make good maps for track campaign style play. I used the old Battletech flat hex sheets for this. I would not mind using them for a standard epic games as they provide terrain features that otherwise one may not own the right terrain pieces to portray adequately. The only problem may be LOS issues, but they could be dealt with before the game by defining obscuring terrain. Primarch |

Yes, I agree with Primarch, but we did use the Space Hulk Board for Epic ! You know, a boarding action scenario ! ![]() |

".. we did use the Space Hulk Board for Epic ! You know, a boarding action scenario !" - Interesting - did you stick to troops or Dread-sized stuff, or include vehicles as well - e.g. Orks boarding a Chaos Titan transporter? |

OK, My first reaction: Man those halls would be wide in Epic Scale. My second reaction: I wish I had not gotten rid of my map parts when I dumped all my 40k 28mm stuff. It would be fun to play a game like that. My last reaction for the moment: The basic tiles and set up could make for short fire lanes and thus take away some of the advantige some weapons would have. OK, enough. I am such a game geek. ![]() dafrca |

all that comes to my mind are Ork fighters flying down those halls and a mad look in the pilot's eyes as he realises that the doors ahead are closing... is he going to make it... the gap is shrinking... |

Well, it all came about many years ago with a game called "Warmaster" that came in an issue of White Dwarf. It was the operation of the Emperor's Forces boarding Horus's Barge. We used the map to set up the S/Hulk tiles and converted the forces over to Epic scale. Mostly infantry, deamons, etc. no vehicles, IIRC. I may have to check it out again. The game is still in my War Room, along with my Space Hulk game. We used the old Epic metal SM Commanders as Horus and the Emperor ! I still use them as Chaos Primarchs. ![]() ![]() |

Hi! I remember that game well. It was a fun game. ![]() The epic scenario would be interesting limiting forces to just infantry and dreadnoughts. Primarch |

Yes, SMs, CSM, Terminators, IG, Cultists(for the crew) Deamons, Angeron, Dorn, etc. it was quite a battle. ?And the SM1 square bases fit in the corridors perfectly. ?Plus there were room tiles which were large open "kill zones" ! ? ![]() |

The whole thing sounds great. I would love to try it out. Imagine, mass troops charging down a hall. Great stuff. dafrca P.S. Jimbo, I do like the image of the Ork plane trying to make it as well. That would be a very Orky thing to do, fly a plane "indoors". ![]() |

Hi! I own a large amount of tiles from the Legions of steel game, which are the same as the original Space Hulk tiles. I'm thinking on a large space ship layout where the SM will enter through the engines and seek to get to the bridge and take control.... ...only the orks are in the way. Primarch |
