oooh.. very interesting.. sounds like the games are in good hands- lots more background to come when the 40k RPG comes out I think.. very cool!

What's the word on 10mm LoTR ? The ruins/terrain bitz should work well with Epic. I find that 10-15mm structures work very well with Epic !

I believe that the 10mm LOTR stuff is done and ready to go, but its now a marketing decision when it will be released.
The plastic models masters were on show at GamesDay 2003 and therefore are awaiting to go into production.
As for the WH FRP, I wonder where this leaves Hogshead which has been publishing WHFRP for some time now...

..I thought Hogshead had dropped the project or gone bust a while back... iirc I heard this on the Black Library board on the GW official site...

I heard similar some considerable time back - Hogshead had gone bust &/or (I think its a matter of which order...) had lost the contract to the WHFB publishing rights.
As for the Battle of the 5 Armies stuff (10mm LotR) its certainly all ready to go - I've had a close up look at the plastic sprues myself - & I believe its due out late this year. Basically filling the time slot for a big release which has been taken up by mainline LotR games the past 3 years. last I heard, How it will be packaged is still a matter of much discussion.

Actually Hogshead was in profit, they just lost interest, the guy in charge now writes for the Black Library and works on Crime fighting modules for RPG.
It returned the rights to GW.

Interesting that the WFRP was revived, it has a lot of fans. It will be nice to see their take on 40k through RPG rules.

I hope they stay afloat long enough to FINALLY publish the last part of the enemy within campaign. The first three modules were great although the fourth one was Paranoia come fantasy. Which is no surprise since it was written by Ken Rolston...
PLUS I'd like to see more sourcebooks. The Dwarf sourcebook was superb!

Source books are name of the day.
TEW will NOT be republished, they are only doing new material, it will be a new system (not D20 just an updated version of WFRP) so existing material will not be rehashed or completed.
Basically they wanna start from scratch as they are concerned people won't buy old material.

IIRC the author of the early TEW books wrote 'Black Sails over Freeport", one of Green Ronin's adventures. How's that for handy.
