Some pretty cool stuff this month:
*******************************************************
Welcome to a slightly jetlagged issue of the Forge World Newsletter.
Jetlagged? Well Tony, Steve and myself were over in the USA for Games Day Baltimore. This was an incredibly busy but enjoyable show for Forge World. For the first time outside of the UK we took one of our modelmakers, Will Hayes, with us to talk about his work, show off ongoing projects and answer whatever questions you might have had. Will had his wonderful new Mars pattern Warhound Titan and an unfinished example of a 'Pre-Heresy' Space Marine Dreadnought on display, both of which caused huge interest. He also had some oh-so-cool pictures of an unfinished 'Pre-Heresy' Land Raider conversion kit. The boss has promised to let me show these in a newsletter very soon.
Tony was working alongside Will on the Forge World Designer's stand, proudly showing off a copy of 'Imperial Armour Volume 1, Imperial Guard and Imperial Navy', one of only two in existence. Despite how big we've told people this book is, people do seem shocked when they see just how massive it really is. As an example, take a look at this, http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/comp.htm. I have also got a full list of the contents as well as some more pictures of what you can expect to see inside this work of madness http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/imperialarm ... ntents.htm. One of my favourite sections is where we show cutaways of tank ammunition. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/imperialarmourbooka.htm http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/imperialarmourbookb.htm 'Imperial Armour Volume 1' will be released week commencing September 1st and is available to pre-order now on the Forge World online store http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalo....11.html. All overseas orders for 'Imperial Armour Volume 1' are going to be sent by UPS Express. We have to, just because the book just weighs so much! But I don't suppose anyone will mind their book arriving two to three days after it being shipped will they?
If we're very lucky, we should receive a small delivery of 'Imperial Armour Volume 1' in the next few weeks. Our plan is to take these to Games Day USA Chicago http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/gamesdaychic.htm http://www.games-workshop.com/news....003.htm, Games Day Canada http://www.games-workshop.ca/news/cn/ev ... A/home.htm and Games Day Germany http://www.games-workshop.de/Sturm_d....dc.shtm as special pre-release copies. If you are coming to any of these three events, I seriously recommend reserving a copy to be sure of getting one. People attending the Games Days in Baltimore and Los Angeles a few weeks earlier were given the opportunity to pre-order the new 'Imperial Armour Volume 1' book at the events. We'll use the last of the delivery for these orders and they should be shipped out during August. To reserve ANY Forge World product to be picked up at one of these events please either call us or send us an email with a list of what you want, titled either 'RESERVATION Games Day Chicago', 'RESERVATION Games Day Canada' or 'RESERVATION Games Day Germany'. All reservations will be held till 2pm on the day of the show.
Now that he has finished off 'Imperial Armour Volume 1', Warwick has been busy updating the downloads section of our website. He has updated the rules for the Kroot Great Knarloc and the Necron Pylon as well as uploading some new experimental rules. You can use both the Giant Chaos Spawn and the Giant Chaos Spined Beast in Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000. Warwick has also completed an initial set of experimental rules for the new Whirlwind Hyperios and Damocles Command Rhino ?http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/downloads40k.htm http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/downloadswarhammer.htm. Please remember experimental rules are rules still under development. Feel free to play test them and send Warwick your feedback at imperialarmour@games-workshop.co.uk Experimental rules are likely to change over time before a final version is published, hence the revised Knarloc and Pylon rules.
While we were in Baltimore for Games Day we got a phone call from Simon in the Forge World office. "One of the IT guys was over fixing a problem with the Forge World emails and he's managed to delete it!" "Delete what? The email you were working on? What?" "All the emails! He's deleted the whole inbox!" Tony and I got a little upset at this point. Our friendly IT man has manged to recover the Forge World inbox, but none of the emails that had been in there! As a result of this there are going to be some people out there who have sent us an email and have not had a reply. We are completely up to date with all our emails at the moment so if you sent us an email in the last week and have not yet had a reply please either send it to us again or give us a quick call. Apoligies to all concerned.
Lastly, if you are going to Conflict Bristol this weekend, Forge World will be there showing off some of our new models and I know Steve has one of those very rare 'Imperial Armour Volume 1' books for you to drool over too.
That's it for tonight. Thanks,
Ewen Little. Forge World.

Hope all those links work, I spent long enough editing them all back in....
