Enjoy

Hi folks, welcome to the latest Forge World Newsletter.

Tony, Simon and I have just got back from the USA after attending Games Day Los
Angeles. We would like to thank all the people who came over to say 'Hi' and
chat for a few minutes. It was great to put faces to some of the people we have
been talking with for the past few years.

We've hardly made it back to Nottingham before Tony and I are off overseas
again. We're off to the USA again, this time for Games Day Baltimore on Friday
and Saturday June 20th and 21st.
http://www.games-workshop.com/news....003.htm Tony
will be doing another of his popular Forge World/Fanatic double act seminars
with Jervis Johnson on Friday and Saturday. By all accounts this seminar is
tremendous fun and not too be missed! I of course get left on the sales stand
and have never yet seen one!
It goes without question that Forge World will be showing off new models at
Games Day Baltimore. Not only will we have Imperial Thunderbolt Fighters, Alpha
Legion Chaos Dreadnoughts and
Grey Knights Dreadnoughts, but we hope to have a whole host of new models too.
Take a look at the list below foe more details.

We showed off some pictures of a new Titan at Games Day Los Angeles, a new
Pre-Heresy style, Mars pattern Warhound to be precise.
http://forgeworld.games-workshop.com/imagearchive3.asp As you can see, the model
is quite different from the other two Titans we have made, but it is also quite
clear that this is a member of the same 'family'. The armour on the Mars pattern
Warhound is made up of huge curved cast plates rather than the smaller angled
sections seen on many Lucius Titans, a technology believed to be lost to the
Tech-Priests of the Lucius Forge World centuries ago. Included in the kit are
four leg greaves, two with all the beautiful detailed iconography as shown, and
two plain ones allowing people to paint or sculpt their own. The Titan also has
a fully detailed interiorand some awesome new crew figures.

Two new Space Marine models we were showing off at Los Angeles and hope to have
for sale at Baltimore are the new Whirlwind Hyperios
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/wwhyperios.htm and Damocles Command Rhino
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/damocles.htm The Hyperios is a dedicated
anti-aircraft variant of the Whirlwind armed with a huge combination targetter
and missile launcher turret. The Damocles operates as a communications link
between a Space Marine Commander on the battlefield and orbiting Strike
Cruisers, Battle Barges and Thunderhawk Gunships. Trial rules for both these new
Rhino kits will be put onto the Forge World website downloads section as soon as
Warwick writes them!

The Imperial Valkyrie has proven itself to be one of the most popular and
characterful kits Forge World has made so far. Ever since then we have been
promising a dedicated gunship variant. Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the
Imperial Vulture Gunship! http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/vulture.htm The Vulture
loses all the transport capability of the Valkyrie in favour of increased
firepower. With it's wide arc of fire the chin mounted Heavy Bolter will open up
first before targets are engaged with the monstrously huge rocket pods under the
wings. For more heavily armoured targets the Lascannon should come in rather
handy. But that's not all! Click on the links at the top or the bottom of the
Vulture page to see it fitted with several different combinations of weapons
pods available separately. Rules have been written for the Vulture and are being
printed as we speak as part of our huge new book, Imperial Armour Volume 1,
released later this summer.

The forces of the Inquisition have received a lot of attention from Forge World
over the past few months, and why not I say! The Grey Knights are documented as
possessing some of the fastest spaceships available.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/gkscruiser.htm The Grey Knights Strike Cruiser
features redesigned hull plating, stylized bridge and benedictions to the
Emperor inscribed along the hull.

The creator of the Giant Spined Chaos Beast and the Chaos War Mammoth, Daniel
Cockersell, has sculpted us another manifestation of his twisted imagination.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/cspawn.htm This Chaos Spawn could be used happily in
games of Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 or even Inquisitor I expect.

All of the above models, and the Imperial Thunderbolt Fighter, Alpha Legion
Chaos Dreadnought and Grey Knights Dreadnought should be available in limited
quantities at Games Day Baltimore but are also available to pre-order now at
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalo....11.html

If you would like to reserve an order to pick up at Games Day Baltimore we are
happy to arrange this for you. Please email your list along with your name to us
with the following title, ?€˜RESERVATION - Games Day Baltimore?€™. To be sure we
get your reservation before Tony and I jet off to the USA please send them to us
by midnight Sunday June 15th. All reservations will be held until 2pm on
Saturday 21st at Games Day Baltimore.

On a sad note, we've had several disappointed people contact us recently about
'Forge World' models they've bought through on-line auctions. It would appear
that there are several individuals who are currently selling pirated Forge World
models. We have seen several of these forgeries and they are without exception
very poor copies. This practice is obviously illegal and also very disappointing
to the people who have paid good money for these models so we are currently
taking action to stop this. We must therefore advise people to show extreme
caution when buying any models claiming to be Forge World models from any
on-line auctions or from similar sources. If you believe you may have bought
forgeries and want to be sure, please contact us.

That's all for today folks,
Thanks,

Ewen Little.
Forge World.

Cheers

Chris

..Some great stuff this time round I have to say, the new Titan is interesting, as I was expecting something more on the lines of the metal Epic one... still cool I guess, a more smooth, sleek look that is quite nice imo.

I like the Rhino/WW varients, the Damolcles seems quite a cool concept in particular....
The Vulture is interesting, but I do like the original better...
No Epic again ?:( , but we do get the Grey Knights Strike Cruiser for BFG. :D

Well, all things being equal, I hope we see the Rhino upgrades, Vulture & Mars Warhound in Epic scale - Before too long ... :L

Yeah, they would make great little characterful additions to an Epic SM army I think, especially the Damocles...
Another thing I notice, is that it was pointed out on the BFG list that the Grey Knights Strike Cruiser is actually cheaper than the normal GW one, at ?5 as opposed for ?6... a change! :-:

Its the same as their epic range. unless things have changed since my last order, FW tanks are ?5 for 3, Fanatic sell at ?6 for 3.

So the Whirlwind Hyperios is the "Hunter" Whirlwhind AA variant mentioned in EA???

I can feel a quick conversion coming on to build my Flesh Tearers a Damocles Command Rhino  :;):

Yeah I was wondering if the Hyperios was the Hunter. Perhaps Fanatic will have to change the name of theirs or it is something completely different...

Only time will tell.

Yeah, same with superheavies- sure, you have to buy 3 for ?18, but they are then only ?6 each, and Fanatic was selling the metal ones for ?7 last time.... wonder where I shall be getting my IG tanks from then..... :;):

*claps* woo yes, you win a prize Chris, what with me earning in the holidays, I sense a quite a few packs of tanks on the way, tho it is annoying they don't have the basic Leman Russ yet available, just many, many variants..... :L

Ok, whats my prize?

I would like to see Forgeworld do a normal Leman Russ or a Demolisher, but I don't think Fanatic would be too happy if they did.

So far F/W and G/W Fanatic do their own versions of the same vehicles too often. ?But I've said this before too, the IG has a lot of models between the two companies - too many ! ?The Valkyrie and Vulture would be my first choice to add to my forces. Most likely Fanatic will do the standard Leman Russ from E40K for E-A. With F/W making 1 L/R varient and 2 versions of the Demolisher, I doubt they will do more, but who knows ? ? And again G/W & F/W sends more confusing information, is the Hunter and Hyperios the SM AA vehicle, or is one the G/W version and the other a F/W machination !? ??? ? Those guys need to get their acts together, both are "artist driven" and rarely produce what is actually needed by the armies on the board. ?Chaos & 'Nids are too often forgotten and both companies continue to make 3-5 versions of IG (& Orks for G/W). And F/W has done no Ork models in Epic scale, yet, but almost all IG. ?More G/W - F/W skullduggery !! }:) ?So who knows - there is no logic here ... :p

Legion-4,

I know what you mean about FW's odd choices for new figures. It appears that they're operating off of the sculptor's whims.

Since I beleive the choice is probably the sculptor's whims or nothing at all, I'm pretty happy with the choices so far!  :D

I'd really like to see some Orky Epic stuff as well. I'd particularly like to see some special characters and/or an accessory pack to spruce up older models.

Of course, more than anything else, I'd like to see Epic rearise like a Phoenix. I'm not overly fond of the current ruleset, but it's workable and, more so than the rules, I'd like a secure source of models, both new and old.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Let there be no doubt, I'm always pleased with the F/W Epic pieces, however, I'd like some Orks, Chaos, & 'Nids over more IG, save for the Valkyrie & Vulture ... but I learned along time ago, "you can't always get what you want ..."  :;):
