GW PLC (parent company) released the following statement
Trading across the group has been largely in line with budget for the 8 months to January 2003. In February and March trading in the UK business has been unexpectedly strong. This follows the launch in February 2003 of the Battle Games in Middle Earth serialised gaming supplement.
I find this interesting that the Battle Games supplement has been selling well (not that I am LOTR player), it has always seemed reasonable value for money (on a per issue basis and not for the whole series), but I wonder if GW (in conjunction with Deastogni) will release a similar series based on WH40K or WHFB...

Yeah, I think that it has sold well with GW's younger market- I know a few people at my school who have bought it, and some younger people in my area have got it too....
I'm sure that it has generated more interest in GW stuff, which is *usually* a good thing....

LOTR is a very good value for money game, just the rules are not to my liking.
The plastics are a very good price though...

Hmm, yeah, the models are great- but while the plastics are nicley priced, the metal miniatures are very expensive- usually ?5 apiece for a character....
I think the Uruk-Hai are some of the best LOTR models- they are really nicely done- almost perfect versions of the film images...
