Well the how to paint tanks book is invaluable as the special 'hobby' process used to make them is unique making standard tank painting techniques not merely obsolete but dangerous.

The water pot has been specially designed to hold the exacting and unique thickness of the GW brush. Further being a plastic container with only one opening for the lid and brushes it doesn't leak GW bottled water.

The palette is particularly ingenious. After holding and painting your models (especially tanks) in the proscribed GW style your fingers and especially thumb twist into cruel parodies of claws, making the simple yet finely machined holding slot fit only a true 'hobbyists' hand.

Isn't it self-explanatory? They are all say "Citadel" items, which means they are automatically better than everything else.

I think the painting tanks book will be good reference for color schemes and unit markings or just overall inspiration with the odd useful technique for most modelers and a good intro resource for the inexperienced.

The other two are just plain loony.

Yeah, I can't defend this palette or the brush holder.  The tank book might be worth a look through, their other books on terrain and minis were fairly helpful for a novice painter.

They already have the "How To Paint Space Marines" book, but I'm sure it will be fairly generic stuff in here.  "Use this foundation paint color here (made by Gdub), use this wash here (made by Gdub), use these colors to add battle damage, use these colors for weathering effects, this is how you shade, this is how you highlight, this is how you dry brush, etc..."

I wonder how much money was sunk in developing and marketing this line of products? They will spend on this and not on SG

Yes, I think they want to be all inclusive with this hobby.  One stop shopping.  They don't want people to wander any further than their own store.

elmers glue dries hard and cracks, the PVA I've used dries more rubbery.

I water mine down, haven't had any problems with it yet.  I've even had some tragic rapid deceleration from table top height.  Lost some arms and weapons and one Warlord Titan Leg, but none of my basing materials have cracked...yet.

Did you actually use PVA to glue your models together or did I misunderstand that?

That water pot is ace!  You can use it to trap bugs and other small animals.  Once they get in the hole, they can't get back out.

The palette is a great buy for those relatives looking to give the perfect gift, but who really have no clue what any of this weird stuff is.

The tank book teaches you the essential GW vehicle painting principal of making sure that all highlighting must fall on the outside edges.
