Presumably because zombie robots don't call them gauss or tesla in zombie robot language, but humans who observe the weapons have named them in their own language after human scientists. Your second point is still valid though :D

As well as being the names of scientists, they are also units of measurement (of magnetic flux density), so could very easily have survived into the grimdark future. They appear to use metres and kilometres in the Imperium.

Well, it's a grim dark future. I can't think of anything more grim and dark than having to use the metric system.

Very true, the decaying empire of man should use imperial measurements, an antiquated system fit only for the past, kept in use only due to the edicts of a bloated administration which views progress as heresy ;)

ssshhhh don't call them imperial measurements..... you'll upset the americans ;)

also I'm informed that UK inches != US inches so there is no standardisation there either.....

Wow, tough crowd. OK, I'll see your awesome Oatmeal reference, and raise you one Onion.

At least you're in good company U.S.

Yes, I'm an engineer i.e. I have to calculate tricky things on a daily basis. Now tell me, why would I want a counterintuitive system that adds to the complexity by not being aligned to the base of our numbering system?

Apparently, according to that map, penguins are as backward as the US.

I'll add a small rant of my own here, if I may? Why doesn't the Ebay app (Ipad) allow me to limit searches to Europe when the website has that option. Trans-Atlantic shipping is slow and expensive and I want to reserve it for when there aren't any options. Especially since our local postal service recently almost returned a package because they forgot to notify me of its arrival. *breathe in, breathe out*

Or allow you to access your other lists, not just the default 'watch' list...
