As before, this thread would be better named 'Discussions on Powergaming', as WAAC means two different things: - To fluffy gamers it means 'Powergaming'. - To tournament gamers it means 'bad sportsmanship'. Which is one reason why the other thread went awry. At least 'Powergaming' means the same thing to both groups. I'd quite like to bring several of my friends to EpicUK tournaments, but they're uninterested by the tournament environment. |

Not to create a new argument (Yes! No! Yes! No!), wouldn't this be a better placed in "General Wargames Discussion" as it's certainly not exclusive to Epic: Armageddon? |

Quote from other thread: So E&C's best example of a WAC gamer is someone who takes a rubish army, consistantly finishesh in the bottom 3 and is well liked all round for generally being a nice chap! I liked him too, he let me change a move after I'd taken my fingers off my models (And I did the same for him). Barring two moments in the game (His surprise Commissar Titan*** and his odd removal of casualties) it was a pleasant experience. ***Which it seems EpicUK think is fine, although not particularly powerful? |

When the EpicUK Imperial Guard lists are released then I expect commissars will be limited to IG units but until then they aren't as per the rulebook+errata. It is not a game-changing issue and there is an unwritten agreement by taccoms going epic Uk members not to do it. |

It's completely valid by the rules-as-written... just let it go, man. ![]() ![]() Jervis didn't see fit to change it in the errata, so, is there any in-game issue or just the "flavour"? |

How would you feel though if you were a quite new player coming onto taccoms and seeing your armylist and gameplay being repeatedly held up as an example of powergaming, maxed out lists and a WAAC mentality? |

I've singled out regulars too... ...and he (Russel?) told me that it was an EpicUK regular who advised him to put commissars in Titans at a previous tournament he attended. I allowed it in the game (Of course), and he went away after the OW tournament thinking it's normal. |

'Cos it's not in line with the background, and because there's no good reason why IG Titans should be better than Marine Titans. just let it go, man.  ![]() ![]() I would, if people would just stop bringing it back up!  ![]() |

Oh dear, and just as it seemed we were getting somewhere. Right, no "naming and shaming" please; if you have to, please use examples that are non-personal. Also, if you have problems with rules, please put up a question in the relevant thread; and the number of commisars (and their placement) is definitely a rule question. For what it is worth, I have a sneaking suspicion that WAAC also applies as much to these debates. So, could we put this thread into "General Wargames Discussions" as Chroma suggests. |

I'd rather keep the thread here, as I'm only really interested in the discussion as it pertains to epic. I don't really care if there is major WAAC in other systems. |

If this thread goes to 'General Wargaming' we'll just end up slagging off Warhammer Fantasy / Warhammer 40,000, and won't learn anything about Epic. |

Certainly! I think that's something that didn't really come across in the other thread ; whatever problems Epic has they are pale shadows in comparison to GW's core games. |
