Off to the local brick and morter to crash their 40K night with some Epic goodness.  Talked a buddy into learning/playing a game tonight.  The store organizer is excited to see how the game plays and hopefully I'll come away with more than one convert tonight.  Blood Angels and Ulthwe are off to spread some carnage. |

Quick and easy game, tried to keep it simple. No WE's, no aircraft, no special characters, tried to keep special abilities to a minimum. He picked it up quick enough for a first timer. We got through about a turn and a half before the store closed. He was a bit confused with the different movement's (kept wanting to march or double into assault) but he was pretty excited about playing again. I mentioned the cost for getting his own army together, but there was definite trepidation in his voice about sitting and painting up an army. There weren't too many 40K players there to entice. A handful of guys who were of legal voting or drinking age watched and were impressed with how streamlined the rules are compared to SM2 or current 40K. We were invited back, I'll head down there solo next time with some 1.5K to 2K armies to help with the learning process. Have to head to Michagan on Monday for work so two weeks out before another game. But tomorrow is Axis and Allies and a buddy's house. And the glourious Emperor of Japan will not be defeated this time. Hopefully I will get a good partner this time to field Germany, and we can cripple USA, UK, and USSR. BANZAI. |
