Post subject:  Reaper CAV size question

Hi everyone,

I'm a new member here, returning to mini-gaming after 5 years away, and I have been inspired by the amazing army pictures that many of you have posted to dust off my old epic figs and give it a whirl again. In particular, with so many great IG armies, I have really been blown away by how great they look and how many really solid looking 6mm manufacturers there are out there. So, I have been considering the formerly unthinkable: starting an IG army!  :))

At any rate, I have been browsing tanks trying to find replacements (no more of my money for you, GW!...or at least, not a lot more...) and there are some good ones. Far more than I had ever known existed! I am after a certain style, and a few of the Reaper CAV line seemed to fit the bill. I know it is a 10mm (N) scale, but does anyone know how big the tanks actually are? I was looking at the Grundor House Hunters, the Mark IV Spike or the Malefactor. I was thinking that they may make replacements for Russ variants, or the two tanks in the Baran list. Are they going to look like superheavies?

Thanks for any help or advice!

(I'll apologize in advance if this is covered somewhere obvious; I searched, but I have a way of missing what I am after. )

The older tanks and vehicles are smaller than 10mm, you might want to ask on milnet to see if anyone can post size comparisons.  Sgt. Crunch plays CAV as well, PMing him would be a good place to start too.

I have a number of CAV walkers, and they are 10mm. The tanks in the range, particularly the true scale ones, would be better suited as replacements for super heavies in Epic, such as Baneblades. They would be too big for standard Russ proxies, I think.

Thanks for the responses! I was afraid that they would be just a bit too large, particularly given they seem to be making most of their tanks true scale now. I may still have to get my local game shop to order in a blister of something for me to compare.
