Hi guys, yes it's another plea for assistance. ![]() I seem to have problems posting images on threads and have noticed that other members manage to post images that allow people to enlarge their images when you click on them. This has resulted in image envy and I have struggled to reach the point of being able to ask the forum for help. Please can anyone lend a hand ![]() I know I can 'Attach' images as you would a file attachment but wish to post a BIG BatRep and have too many pics for this to work well. If any of this makes sense and you can help please get in touch here. Cheers... |

Ok, here is an example of what I can manage. Just incase I'm asked to post something. ![]() This was attached by using the options above when replying to a thread. Or I can attach an image by using the attach file option at the bottom of the page... but then I need to cut the file down to 150KB or less. So no good for my BatRep images ![]() |

Hi again CyberShadow, Yeah I know, but the image has to be 150 KB or less. How do I go about reducing the image KB size without reducing the pictures actual size? Why was it not a problem before the Tac Comm move? Perhaps it's more to do with the posting abilities and less to do with my computer resolution? (I don't know enough about computers to know where to start working this out.) Posting Abilities iF Code is on Posting HTML is NOT allowed [img] tag: Enabled Maximum images per post: 10 Maximum emoticons per post: 5 Flash movie posting: Disabled Maximum Flash movie width: 200 Maximum Flash movie height: 400 Dynamic image posting: Disabled Also I have seen other threads with image after image on the same post without the 'Attached Image' command above it as if they were using the Image button above. For example Jonluke's thread on the Necron Monolith. There have been others too but I can't remember where I saw them and can't find them again. Obviously I am finding this hard to explain and I am not making myself clear or understandable but it's beginning to get frustrating that I can no longer post pictures or properly see the pictures posted here as I could before the move. |

I pretty much never post images by attaching them. I prefer to use a third party program to host images so I can upload them however I want and then use that to place the image on forums. With www.photobucket.com it is really easy to upload photos of whatever size you want. You can even have it resize images to a good size for forum display as you upload them if you don't do this on your own computer. It then gives you a link that you cut and paste to place the images in the forum. Not sure how to place thumbnails. I have to admit I prefer not to have to click on thumbnails to view images but prefer posts that just have images at full size. |

Hi Mark, Yeah I use Photobucket too and usually download at 800x600 but even when I use larger download it makes no difference. When I directly attach the URL to the post it looks far away and you can't click on it to enlarge it. I'm going to try attaching an old picture from an old Bat Rep (NetEpic Battle Reports, PDF v Tyranid Assault.) and see what it looks like now. Then you can look at the old Bat Rep and see what I mean. ![]() Every new posted picture attached in this way (Cut and Pasted from Photobucket) is only 3 inches by 2 inches on the screen while the pre-move pictures filed the screen. Why!?  ![]() ![]() I suppose I could direct a link to my photobucket site for the pictures but this seems clumsy, but I guess I may have no choice. I am a simple soul and I'm finding this very off putting as I can't see all the fantastic pictures that attracted me to the site in the first place... Unless the image is attached, but as I said that would be fine for a close ups but not for a BatRep where you need to see more of the surrounding picture too. |

This is just a guess, but it looks like those images you've attached are 16x9. Maybe the board's software is cropping them to 4x3? |

Hey Dave, By Dave | Posted on 08 Aug. 2008, 21:59 This is just a guess, but it looks like those images you've attached are 16x9. Maybe the board's software is cropping them to 4x3? It'll be a better guess than I can manage. Any ideas as to why and or how to stop it? Cheers, anyway. |

Not sure about the boards but your camera should be able to set image size. As a side note, I clicked on your image you posted in my Reaver head/shoulder guard thread and it got bigger. What did you do different there? |

I Attached File using the Browse option which allows an image to be attached so long as it is no bigger than 150KB. These images can be double clicked on and enlarged. your camera should be able to set image size. Wow, that sounds like an evening in with lots of swearing and a ten pound mallet. I've had a quick look at my camera and get the impression my Sony Cyber-shot is either past it or I am. |

Still trying... your camera should be able to set image size. Changed the image size in the camera setting (Hurrah! Didn't even need the hammer. I must be getting better with technology, forum members influence rubbing off or something.) Now lets see what happens... ![]() |

Ok so the image URL from Photobucket is still being reduced in size to give a smaller image. But, at least I can reduce the camera image and attach all the photo's I want for a Battle Report, yay! Clumsy, but it'll do for now. Thanks Dave. |

This first image in the above post isn't being resized by this forum, it's coming that way from photobucket. |
