Well, it must have been literally weeks since I last posted one of these... ![]() I wonder if the fine people here can suggest a game. Ideally, I am looking for a tactical/strategic battle card game, which will handle solo play and doesnt require huge numbers of new packs to be bought. A long shot, I know. Think something like Magic, or the 40K CCG for solo play. Does these types of game exist? It seems that this would be great for throwing into a bag for long weekends, etc. Thanks. |

Just in case anyone was following this, I came back to it and did a search through the first 300 card games on Board Game Geek. ![]() Some suggestions for those also seeking a solo card game (in order of what seems to me the 'best'): - Pocket CIV (home rules with a pack of cards) - Chrononauts - Middle Earth CCG (out of production) - Early American Chrononauts - Wings of War: Burning Drachens Let me know if anyone follows these up. |

Solitaire. But... Played blind folded! And when you move a card up you have to wizz it into a 1st edition plastic space hulk terminator! (The level of detail there may actually give a clue to what we as callow youths used for bb gun targets.) |

That is the problem. My organiser thing has solitaire on it... and I have now played it to death and I am fed up with it. Still, 'solitaire' is the answer that I most commonly get in shops too! ![]() I have gone with Middle Earth (found a site to buy some packs) and Chrononauts. I will you guys know what I think when they arrive. |

I actually have middle earth CCG but have never tried solo play, its good two player though. I have given up on CCG's, my favorite was Vampire: the Eternal Struggle (which was known as Jyhad when if first came out) but the game really only comes into its greatest strength when you have 4-5 players. Now that I live in an isolated country town my cards are just sitting around neglected. |

(Mark_Logue @ Dec. 22 2007,00:37) QUOTE Now that I live in an isolated country town my cards are just sitting around neglected. Pretty much why I am looking for a solo play set. My opponents are too precious to lay anything except a 'real' wargame! ![]() |
