*** As you can imagine, there are quite a few things to deal with when building a supplement like this. ?People email / PM me regularly asking what is going on and rather than keep those explanations private I thought I'd throw them out here. ?Questions? Requests? Offers to help? Recommendations? Criticisms? ?By all means post them. *** Epic: Raiders will be a fan-made supplement for Epic: Armageddon that will incorporate the Necrons, the Dark Eldar, and the Imperial Guard Minervans Armored Legion. ?The project was started by ?Evil&Chaos, Corey, and I after a discussion here at Tactical Command. The Epic: Raiders project was originally set to be completed October 2007 but I believe we are looking at a November-December date for a new deadline. ?Real life has interfered (gasp!) and put a number of things behind. ?With that said, I think pushing back the deadline will mean a better quality piece of work for everyone. The storyline - we have a solid 1st draft of an original storyline and we are working on draft #2. ?We're keeping most of the details hush-hush since they could easily change and it will be more fun to publish it all at once. ?'Recidivist' has joined the effort and will be working on the BFG aspects of the story to keep us honest and true to the game/fiction. Summary - The Imperial Guard's Minervan Legion stands against not one but two ancient foes. ?The Dark Eldar and the Necron batter an Imperial world and push the armored forces to their limits. How much can they take before they break? Army Lists - Obviously the army lists will be included in the supplement. ?We'll be doing our best to make them as balanced as possible in time for the release. ?While the discussion of those army lists details are not for this thread, feel free to post your comments or concerns and let's link to those threads if the discussion goes into specifics. ?We recognize that these lists are not proven to be balanced, but at the same time don't let that dissuade you from trying them out. The DE have had very few complaints and almost all have been addressed in the 1.3 version. The Necrons have been around for awhile, and even though there are some active discussions going on my feeling is they will be taken care of well before November. The Minervans are the newest but I think E&C done well with this list. The great thing is it should be the easiest to playtest given the availability of the models. How to help - Playtest! ?What better way to get involved than by playtesting these lists and helping them achieve their balance. ?Be sure to post batreps and pictures as often as you can. Artwork - Our competition just ended but we are still taking submissions. ?Now that things have settled, I will be happy to share and make requests (some artists requested I just tell them what to draw but I didn't feel comfortable doing that during the competition itself). ?Here are a few small requests if anyone out there has the time: 1. Battles between IG and Dark Eldar 2. Battles between IG and Necron 3. Battles between Necron and Dark Eldar 4. Images of Raiders/Ravagers or other DE vehicles (we're short on these - I will post some pictures here later if you have no idea what a EXAMPLE Vessel of Pain looks like). 5. Any pic that shows more than one vehicle (battle line up, repairs, wreckage, etc.). Models - If you own a Necron, Dark Eldar, or Minervan IG army, we'd love to showcase your models. ?Ex. Charad has been a huge contributor for the Dark Eldar, but we can always use more. ?Necrons? ?Absolutely. ?Even the IG -despite having FW and SG models for them- will be appreciated. ?Show off those paint schemes. ?Information on how you painted your models, Work-In-Progress pics of how you built your monoliths, etc.. ?We have a good amount of info but at the same time I'd like to give people options. ?Since we're talking about a pdf file here, I don't have to worry about printing costs. ![]() Scenarios - this is something we haven't done yet but will be shooting for. ?We still need to iron out the fiction first. Counts as lists - Dark Eldar will be a perfect candidate for this. ?With many of their units mirroring the Eldar, a counts-as chart will help people playtest them with minimal modeling. ?I have a basic outline for this but if you have suggestions throw them out there please. Layout - Evil & Chaos will be taking the lead on this. ?Given the great work he did with the Krieg supplement it is our hope that he will be able to lend his expertise to putting the finished product together. If you are looking over that list and thinking "Do they have anything done yet?" don't worry. ![]() I'll do what I can to post links & updates here and answer your questions. ?Thanks for the interest! |

Here you'll find a link for a Dark Eldar gallery on the wiki. I'm posting my models here for EpiComp so people can see other shots of the pieces, but you can also use this as a preview of the Dark Eldar modeling section. Other folks who have made models for the Dark Eldar, feel free to put them in this gallery. It is a public gallery for Epic scale Dark Eldar models. Lets see what you've done! ![]() |

Any suggestions and comments greatly appreciated! |

I am having success with changing winged exarchs into Scourges by slicing off their wings and gluing them back on upside down. You end up getting a slightly webbed wing look to them, although it isn't perfect. The best thing to do is match two right wings on a model, then two left wings on a model. The reason is because when you cut them off they won't be symmetrical. The problem with this is the availability of Exarchs. Even with 4 per stand, you'll run out pretty quick. I supplemented my supply of wings by cutting some off Swooping Hawks and put them on Guardian bodies. It creates some nice variation on the stands. |

I'm already deciding to go 3 per stand with lots of scenery. Reflects the really small numbers feel of the army. I do like the scourge idea, particularly if you have more guardians with hawk wings than exarchs. That way you have a distinct lance model with the rest splinter rifles. |

That was the first thing that went through my mind. At the same time we're a 100% volunteer staff, so I should have expected to see some delays. Still, it is annoying me that we have to put it off. E&C seems to think we can finish on time - I am not so optimistic. |

As an update to the Raiders project, I'd like to welcome anyone with models representing the three armies (Imperial Guard Minervan Armored Legion), the Dark Eldar, and the Necron) to email me at moscovian@hotmail.com any pictures of their models or Work-in-progress models. Include your full name or pseudonym (whichever you prefer to be credited as) in the body of the email so we can say who made what. I'm not sure how many pictures we're going to be including but I'd like to put in as many as possible. The fiction has been turned over to Ben (E&C) who is formatting the whole darn thing along with the wonderul art work that we have and which continues to trickle in. |
