Tas: I'd take you up on the Sea Monster one, but my DVD player doesn't do region 1 disks sadly.

My copy of GMR arrived this week (just in time to take back to sea with me!).  They look good and I?ve yet to have a detailed read, but I agree that thy are a level below MI.  Having said that, I think the Kaiju design rules with the branch organisation are superior and would convert well.

Both GMR and MI have idols or similar sepcial characters...

I have some Preisler RR Z-scale plastic figures that I've mounted on 3/4" fender washers to represent these characters...

I'm still working on the "superscience" inventions built to stop the kaiju...

Epic Ordinatti look great as anti-kaiju "superscience" inventions...

Reviresco also makes a super tracked laser unit from their Days of Empire line...

Preisler Z-scale RR figures makes bikini-clad gals and the whole bit! Perfect for idols, heroes and mad geniuses! :)

You can usually get the whole batch for $20.00 USD or less for a sprue of A LOT of figures...
