I am a mix of English with some Scottish blood in me.

I am descended from the Clan McDuff (as in the Scottish Play, cough Macbeth).

On the English side I can actually trace my family back to 1300 or thereabouts when my family came over from France.

As for Italy I do like Italy, spent a lot of time over there in the 1990s and I really love Italian food. I had authentic Panettone for my Christmas breakfast.

Hi!

Thats going pretty far back!

I dont think I know my lineage beyond my grandparents...  :(

The family line on my father's side goes to pretty interesting places but I refuse to confess...

Hope you all enjoy your vacations and have a great festive season!

Well, I had a whopping one day, not counting the weekend...

Oh dear, sorry it wasn't good, Mojarn.  :(

Nice T-Rex !

AND have you tried Sicilian stuff? Especially their sweets - the granita, the pasticcini alla mandorla, the chocolate of Modica.... sigh!  :8):

Great-great-great -grandaddy (or thereabouts) came to Malta as a kid with his mum and dad, way back in 1812. Funny thing is we never managed to find out whether he came from North or South of the border. I love England, but I usually like to think he's from up North. Alba gu brath!

Anyway, great-great met a Maltese lass and was refused permission tomarry her by the church, as he was Anglican. Good job they were a hard-headed pair and went ahead and had a family! Remarkable, in those days, I guess. It seems that when great-great-great-grandma was on her death bed, something gave and the marriage was made official by the parish priest. Different times.
My  mother's side is less clear, and apparently involves Greeks and Italians and (according to family legend) a very remote and ancient illegitimate son of a knight of the Order of the Knight Hospitallers!

No , my major influences were the Veneto region and Naples. Also I am more of a savoury man and not a great fan of sweet stuff.

Thanks Mojarn, that is a lovely T-Rex.

But Ive found that kid's rubber toys are good to use, lots cheaper and pre-painted ready for instant action!

Thanks for thinking of us though  :D
