Hi Guys,

Well, the big weekend is now not so far away and I will have a lot of free time on my hands!

I have to decide whether to game locally with MWS or in Fresno with Vince's old college buddies or just hang out at home. Here are the choices:

MWS Games:
Next meeting will be on April 9th, 2005. Rancho Cordova Library. We have three games scheduled:
- A Spearhead game,
- A Sons of Liberty game and the
- DBA Campaign.

I will be there by 10AM to open her up. We have to have
nominations and elections of officers as well. I have asked my fellow officers, Grace and Rob and we have all agreed to run on a unified ticket. Anyone else is encouraged to run as well. Elections will be held at this meeting.

Vince's Fresno Game:
FYI - The next Fresno game is Saturday April 9th.
We'll probably be playing a starship game this weekend.

------

I have a couple of chores this weekend:

- Finish and file taxes...
- Send some more job applications out...
- Do bills again...

And a couple of more fun things to do:

- Finish v5.35 of the new E-A Tyranid playtest army list..
- Organize models...
- Clean off work bench...
- Possibly paint Jopalli E-A IG...
- Possibly work on E-A 'Nid army...
- Possibly work on Star Wars Battle of Hoth figures...

Luckily though, my other domestic chores are caught up (laundry and dishes).

** Any ideas what you'd do in my shoes? **

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi Guys,

Here are the starfighters I've seen so far in Star Wars - Episode III:

GOOD GUYS:
- ARC-170 Clonefighter Starship: A 2-engined predecessor to the X-wing, has a rear gunner and wings that have gun pylons mouted at the end as well as weird fold-out flaps on the top and bottom of each wing.

- Jedi Elite Starfighter: Used by Anakin and Obi-Wan, looks like a long glassed over and stretched TIE cockpit with two wings that have fold-out panels and a R2 series droid. Obi-Wan's has red colouring and Anakin's has yellow colouring.

- Delta-7 "Aethersprite" Light Interceptor - Jedi Wedge Starfighter: (Previously seen in Episode II) A wedge shaped starfighter with no hyperdrive capability. It must attach a separate hyperdrive ring to move at lightspeed. Jango Fett and Slave I did a pretty good number on Obi-Wan's last Jedi Wedge Fighter in Episode II. Red colouring for Obi-Wan amd a blue-striped colouring for Plo Kloon.

- Republic Gunships: The helicopter gunship of the future mounted on a repulsorlift frame (previously seen in Episode II). They have cool rocket launchers mounted on the roof and a central troop-carrying bay. and heck, if it's Yoda's preferred ride then why wouldn't we like it? LOL!

- V-wing Clonefighter Starship: A funky looking clonefighter with teeny stub guns and weird flaps distributed over its fuselage.

------

BAD GUYS:
- Droid Gunship: The evil equivalent of a helicopter gunship; it looks like a flying suacer with two small canard wings mounted centerline and a jutting nose portrusion with ball-mounted turret guns spread over it. It's hard to tell where the pilot goes, but I guess it is a DROID fighter!

- Droid Tri-Fighter: A funky 3-winged beast with circular wing shapes, two glowing red droid "eyes" and a semi-anthropomorphic look. Apparently, the text indicates that the body can swivel around to have the "eyes" lock on target.

- Grievous's Fighter: This funky beast looks like a '40s classic US car mixed in with a Buck Rodger's or Flash Gordon rocket ship... very retro. It resembles the Batmobile from the newer movies as well.

- Palpatine's Old Ship: A shuttle that looks like predecessor to the later Imperial shuttle (the Tyridium type).

- Vulture Droid: The droid starfighter previously seen n Episode I that can also convert to a 4-legged walker. It also has "eyes." Lucasfilm must feel that droids should have anthropomorphic features.

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

New 6mm Bio-bug Beastie!

Hi Guys,

I've discovered a new 6mm Bio-bug Beastie!

The lastest plastic D&D figures have a little guy called a Kruthik Hatchling. It looks very Tyranid and would probably make a great Ravenger proxy. I'm going to rebase mine on 3/4" fender washers.

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi Guys,

I finished my taxes! Yeah! :D

I also visited my sister yesterday and watched "The Incredibles," which is a really fun little flick.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Thanks for the info/links/etc on Nids.
I too saw the Incredibles at the weekend, really enjoyed it, I was surprised to see it so old fashioned, 1950s style though but thought it fit really well.

Hi Maksim,

Well, the incredibles are wonderful, well, good, well, ok, well.....hmmm

When your newly five year old daughter gets the movie from her uncle, its wonderful, for the first six or seven viewings.

When you can start to say the characters lines just before the character does.......

But, My daughter loves it.

:)

Her birthday on Saturday was a huge success and getting to talk to you again was great.

Today, after you get home, you should be finding the final part of the mega-trade.

Why don't you give us a breakdown of how you feel with the new stuff?

(I love christmas and birthdays to see the look on peoples faces, too bad we can't hook up a webcam to watch you open the stuff)

On another note, I am going to post pictures tonight or tommorow of all the stuff I have been working on - I will probly PM you with the details before I post it on the main boards.

Take care

Dalton

That is true for all movies the kids watch...although, fortunately for my sanity, my kids are moving through stages...ie, pick one movie, watch a bazillion times, rinse, lather, repeat...

:p

True - and great fun - and yes, the retro look clinched it, I guess.

Hi Guys,

I stayed home sick after vomitting a few times. Working on the 'Nid list must have given me a few bugs... (Bu-dump-bump...) LOL :p

I've been sleeping most of the day, but I did get a minor chore done today:

I got a new Star Wars E-group up today (took me about 30 minutes... I'm getting good at making E-groups):

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/SSSW/

SSSW ? SSSW (Small Scale Star Wars) Wargaming

I've been corresponding with a number of SW fans for some time and most of us have been working on various miniatures rules and I suggested that we make an E-group so we can better pool our efforts.

Guys from Epicomms are welcome to join!

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi Guys,

I've picked up a bad bug the last few days so if my replys to E-mails are coming in later, that's why. Vomitting is no fun. I wonder if this is like the mummy's curse... the "Nid's curse? LOL :;):

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
