Alright, the immediate workbench projects read something like this at the moment:

* Flesh Tearer SMs
* Drop Pod base project
* 3 single Raptor bases to complete the Raptor packs
* The first pieces of my new terrain line: "Stuff the kids can play with and I wont get upset" - things made out of polystyrene by the kids with my help, that are relatively quick t make and repair!
* Some 28mm experimental figs for Cyborgladiator
* a 25% complete scratchbuilt Aeronef

WIP pics to follow when able! :)

EDIT: Maksim, no time today for those Tripod pics, but you can see one of the big ones here.  As you can see, they are nicely detailed.  The smaller ones have only one arm

Nice Tripods ... the Delaks are a bit lumpy, though ... I see they are using the DS rule system ... next to E:A it's pretty good, IMO ! :)

WWII ended 60 years ago today with the surrender of Japan.

Thanks to the fighting soldiers, sailors and airman of the allied nations who fought in the Pacific for our freedom.

(Note that its now called VP Day here after some politically ccrrects pointed out it was inflamatory) and changed it from VJ day....)

Yep, watching the History Channel now ... also saw "The Great Raid" last night ... great movie based on "Ghost Soldiers" and another book about the raid.  Little Hollywood and a lot of good history.  Brought back some memories humping thru the jungle, raids, etc.  Wanted to grab a rifle and go in with them !    :D   Worth a look and read ! :;):  But be advised graphic examples of the IJF's brutality, not for the kids or even "your gal".  The Islamic killers of today are nothing new in the world of religious inspired terrorism ...

As promised, here are some pics of my Works In Progress:

Not happy with my previous mini pics, I re-read WMN's article on taking pics and made the follwing improvements to my technique:
* taken outside in shade
* Used the kid's outdoor blue plastic table which is a nice neutral background
* found the Macro function on my camera which should help ! ?:)

Thanks again for the great article WMN!

All feedback and constructive criticism on my photography and painting is welcomed as always.  Its the only way to improve after all!

-------

First up, I am finished the Raptor packs (the groups of 3 that I posted before) and added a trio of single Raptors as well, one in a different colour scheme. ?I'm quite pleased with how these came out and learnt alot with the basing and using static grass. ?BTW these figs are made by Eureka Miniatures in Oz.

I like this colour scheme too, but not as much as the other one:

The biggest problem I had with the pics was getting the focus correct with such dynamic figs - I cant have the head, body and tail ALL in focus together. ?Something to work on I guess.....

Not too that that figs are easily bendable to get different poses from the same figure

These are first pieces of my new terrain: "Stuff the kids can play with and I wont get upset" - made out of polystyrene obviously. ?Raptor included for size comparison.

Left deliberately "unscaled" so I can use them for anything from epic, to Dino Hunting to Kaiju battles (gotta get a Godzilla to climb up on the archway....) though I may stick some small white stones on them as well (as per the Raptor bases)

And finally something very different for me some wonderful 28mm Figs from Heresy Miniatures - Boris the Barbarian x 2!

First is Beserk Boris (or Super Dynamic Boris) - a difficult figure because of the gaps and stuff because of the way a very animated figure like this has to go together.

And this is his twin "Evil Boris", undercoated and ready for a paintjob:

EDIT: Thats a Eureka resin 'pile o skulls' next to him I'm also playing with...

You can see the lovely pics at the Heresy website here
http://www.heresyminiatures.com/images/pages/hh010.htm

and here:

http://www.heresyminiatures.com/images/pages/hh009.htm

Indeed those lovely pics are probably setting me up for a fall given how rarely I do 28mm stuff, but it'll be fun trying! :p
